Specifically I am restoring a 1936 lathe and the motor appears to be 220 3 phase but has been wired for 220 single phase I don’t know jack ---- about wiring and if I do it myself I will either set myself on fire blow up my house or caused the rotation of the earth to change directions is there anyone on this forum that knows enough about electrical wiring and electrical motors that I could con you to come over and take a look and give me some idea what the hell is going on with this

Its already been rewired to work with single phase I just want an expert to look at it before i put power to it

#nosoupforyou we are bringing a cooler for liability reasons no beer but we might have space to haul a few things up for people in the cooler within reason dunno how large a cooler it will be

The only thing that would be good for is pouring into my radiator if I ran low on coolant not worth the gas it would take to haul it with me

I might not have a bike to ride on Sunday if that is the case would having a Jeep as a chase vehicle be an issue?

Not sure where to put this but was wondering if anyone here had a KTM 1290 Adventure R. I wanted to throw a leg over one and take it for a quick spin to see how it does with air management. I can come to you, and really only need to get about 15 minutes on it to find out what I am looking for.

The 990 is my do all adventure bike where anything offroad is involved. The Africa Twin is my street bike, on this last ride coming back from Kenedy meadows it just lacked the power to be able to make passes over 75mph when trying to get around big rigs and such, I just want more motor for my street bike. I have spent a ton of time and $$ on the ATAS and it jus will never be the bike I want it to be, so looking at the 1290 as my replacement for that. I want a 17/19 wheel combination for the street too

Yes it has done two trips down Baja and back and a couple more through death valley and big bear. Mount works exactly as expected and charges any phone that is enabled with puck charging capabilities. You get what you pay for, which when I got done trying all the less expensive options I ended up paying almost that in failures. Hope to save others the problem, just spend the money and be done with it, BUT is has to be on a switched power source otherwise it will kill a battery if left on a bike unattended long enough (about a week). It does have a very small constant power draw.

If you go to a switched power source and a charging puck then you do away with all the wires and the phone is constantly under power. Sometimes trying to save a penny makes one pound foolish. I have tested literally over a dozen different phone mounts, always wanting an option to power the phone. No it does not have satellite maps I don't know of any offline program that does without paying money for it but the offline topo maps should be good enough for what you want your other option is to have offline maps on Google maps but those to might also not give you the satellite view that you're looking for

the combination or Locus Maps and Router on an android phone has worked very well for me. Need to know few things like: What OS are you wanting the app to run on Is this going to be a smart phone dedicated to GPS use or used both as a phone and GPS e.g. will it be connected to a cellular network Or are you looking to run something else?

Did the hump ride last night with the Monkeys out of Temecula, was around 150 miles in total for me left the house bout 430 and got home about 10pm. Only one Oh ---- moment when riding the single track along the ridge the 990 stalled right when I crested the top because of a hard right turn. If I failed to make the save the bike would still be down the bottom of the ravine on the right, only way to get that out of there would have been by helicopter. Route Video Don't ask where I went I have no freaking clue but the video should tell you the details if you know the area, which I do not...

Oh and we occasionally do tech days but you can PM if you need help getting suspension dialed or whatnot always in the shop on the weekends (at least one of the days)

George has now done 3 of my bikes. The KTM 990 was done by a company called SuperPlush back in 08 when it was new and at the time they were the premier go to place for the bike bikes. I rode it that way for over 12 years then George got his hands on it. Simply put it is a totally different bike, I wish it rode like this when i was 10 years younger would of made me an even better rider. Cant say enough about his work and attention to detail. It may cost more than others but you get EXACTLY WHAT YOU PAY FOR I can not same the same for others I have had do suspension for me on other KTMs. Just my .02
