I went out to Pine Creek on Sunday to do some more exploring
someone is working the Lucky Chuck mine
The Forest Service used foam to seal this mine. now that it's deteriorating it seams more dangerous
I believe this is a ventilation shaft for the Lucky Chuck mine
This mine was abandoned with sheet metal and rocks and it seems a lot more stable than foam
spooky looking hole
A dried up swimming hole
after more hiking I found this mine
lots of blasting holes, some with residents.
more trips coming soon

I have a 20 ton hydraulic jack that you are welcome to use. It's in Guatay. These things are pretty cheep at Harbor Freight.
I raised my house 4 1/2" with this jack and if I ever do it again I will have at least 2 jacks before I start.

We rode out of PV as well. We left the cul-de-sac just after 9 and rode to CC, did trails 1,4,6 and back. Very crowded and dusty. I noticed someone lost a KTM blinker at the bottom of Kernan, was that you?

Thanks
So you guy are parking at the entrance and riding into Cross Roads?
If so, that would probably be my plan too. (gotta still confirm with the riding buddy on ETA)
That is the plan... if you arrive late, we'll be back at 4 corners around 9... black DRZ, and blue/white WRF...
I will leave the cul-de-sac just after 8 and see you at 4 corners

I am going to leave the Pine Valley Cul-De-Sac at 9 am Saturday to ride Corral Canyon.

I didn't want to go in the mines since I was by myself and nobody even knew I was out there. Imagine getting stuck or hurt in a mine and having to live off mice and bats for a couple weeks till someone found you.
I think I have located my next "top secret" spot, but I need to buy a new camera before I go looking for it.

After a lot of research and staring at Google Earth till my eyes bled, I took a quick ride out to Noble to try to find the "Tar Paper Shack" . It's an old abandoned gold mining cabin. With my hand sketched tracks in my GPS I took off for a nice little ride and found this...
Cool bridge, I decided not to ride across it
This a deep mine that goes down at a very steep angle... dangerous!
The tailings pile. You can see these in satellite images on Google Earth. A great way to find lost mines
this mine is almost collapsed
after this pic my camera died and I didn't get to photograph the last 2 mines
This was a fun little trip and I learned a lot about my GPS and Google Earth.

PMB, I chased you down Kernan before, you are a little nuts on that big ol bike. After watching you and TH I don't Know what "big bike friendly" even means???

so, 7am at Four Corners... means I have to leave the cul-de-sac at 6... Is it light at 6?

Not only does Bob lead fun rides but he takes good pics. Thanks for posting

sounds good, I'll leave the cul-da-sac around 7 and see you at the crossroads at 8. I'm not quite intermediate but I know all the goarounds

Bear Valley, Long Valley, Kitchen Creak, Fred Canyon, Thing Valley, Pine Mountain, Deer Park, Pine Creek.
This is a nice loop on hot days because faster speeds give you time to cool down and there is a lot of shade in Mt Laguna.
The Cascade Mine Is the most well known of the Noble Mines since you can ride right up to it.
If you take this loop make sure you add on the Desert Overlook. We skipped the desert view and Pine Mt sense this was supposed to be a 1 hour ride. I had a lot of fun, thanks for posting Brian
