Corral Canyon trail clean up - May 4th 2024
cj54x replied to tntmo's topic in Important Issues, Environmental-Land Use Issues, Important Meetings & Local Information
I plan on taking the Jeep! -
I bet a lot of you know. 216 miles on day one. Damn I miss those rides.
-
The first year that I did the Dash I used the roll chart only and did fine. The 2nd year I was new to GPS and got a little lost, that's why I got 216 miles instead of 204. I've done it 3 times so far and would love to do it again next year... hint hint!

Yep, those were sooo much fun

Having a plated dirt bike I can ride a lot of these places anyway. We don't need more desert areas. Some of this is private property and some is state land. I like Descanso the best. -

Bear Valley OHV Just re-opened to 4 wheelers

That was more of a 4 wheel drive event but we usually do one around this time of year with this website. Stay tuned! -

I was on the Sky Valley/ Espinoza loop on Saturday to do trail maintenance. There was a lot of mud but nothing too bad. Right now the Forest Service is paying Corral Canyon OHV $30 per hour per person for volunteers and the State is matching that times 4. I would guess there were about 50 people that showed up, for 4 hours each. $150 per hour X 4 hours X 50 people = $30,000 for the park. It was a great day. -

My weedeater has me feeling really beat but I think I am going to make it. They are selling Mexican food at the Desert View Tower on Saturday, I might have to stop for lunch. -
Anyone interested in riding the Stagecoach Trail on Sunday 3-26? Meet across the street from the Jacumba gas station in the empty parking lot with enough time to prep your bike for a 10:00 departure. We will ride the Stagecoach Trail to Mountain Spring and then do a little exploring behind Table Mountain. This is a historic wagon road with good photo ops. This ride is recommended for intermediate riders on skinny bikes. I will cross post to Facebook.

Oh the memories. I took my GSXR 1000 off-road a couple times and it was tough. One of the times I had a girl on the back and she was like a backpack, I remember thinking "is this chick even sitting on the seat"

Want to introduce my 6, 6, and 4-year-old kids to motorcycles and/or quads

Bobcat is the upper campground. The kids track is at the Corral Canyon (lower) campground -
sounds good, let me know
-
no one committed to this ride and my friends won't text back so this trip will likely get canceled
-
I saw a mine on an old topo map but I've never been to it
-
I'm not sure that Table Top and Table Mountain are the same place
-
I'm going to haul my bike to Jacumba with my 4 runner so I won't be anywhere near S2, Julian or 94. This is a pretty difficult trail with almost no highway.
-
Yep, big respect for the nutjobs that take big bikes on trails like this... not me
-
That's why I said "recommended" 'cause I know there are some nut jobs on here that take big bikes to difficult places.
-
Nice pics, was this the lower end?
-
Pine Creek also, it was axle deep and flowing really fast
