Remember the 60th-70th when you where 1000 miles away from home and your only connection was; Letter mail (6-8 weeks) Airmail (2weeks), or in an urgent case, Telex fax (over night)?

Hi guys, I cleaned out some of my toolboxes. Here is what I have and like to pass it on to the SDAR community first before I post it on craigslist.
1/4" long and short socket with extension's and ratchets, 90% are CRAFTSMAN tools. some Japan included. $25.00
3/8" long sockets with some extension and ratchet. $35.00
3/8" short sockets with some extension and ratchet. $30.00
1/2" short and long sockets with some extension, cardan joint and ratchet. $35.00
Or all 4 boxes for $100.00
90% of all is CRAFTSMAN. All are in good condition, no scrap metal. Just look at the pictures for a better understanding.
Pickup in Ramona, or you pay for shipping.

Let's keep it in mind.

I plan on doing some BDR driving mid of the year with my Jeep, since I don't feel confident and save, riding a bike loaded for a longer distance and in dirt. I think of BDR CA SOUTH -NORTH. I would take all my bike camping gear, food process gear (blender), and all my medical needs. I know it will be sommertime with good warm temperatures. I like it hot and I need it. I will plan on going 1-3 weeks, depending on my treatment plan.
Going solo is my normal way, but if someone like to go along, we can talk about it.
I don't race, everything takes a litle longer (eating) and I make a mess. That's my new normal.
Is this BDR open and OK for a Jeep drive? Like to hear from people who rode it on bikes and Jeeps.

I have this Bike carrier laying around for the last 2-3 years and never used it. ( I have a smaller one for my Bike) This was used for a Harley Davidson on a motorhome. I should have with it, 2 weld on 2x2 receiver and sliding tubes. this will make it a 3 point no wiggle carrier.
US$ 275 or best offer .
Pickup in Ramona
I could have used a rattle can and make it shine, but let see if there is any interest. This is for small to big bike usage.

I would take all with international 6 day articles. Would send them to Germany to the: Deutsches Enduro Museum.

It culminated into registering for the SoCal Roadbook Rally in the Mojave Desert in March. It's not competitive, it's just a bunch of guys and girls passionate about nav rally camping together in the desert for roughly a week and riding the desert with roadbooks, not GPX tracks.
So, that gave me the idea... why don't we start a mini-club within SDAR for navigation rally rides? Of course, you can spend thousands of dollars buying all the right gear for that. I'm not proposing that - but if you have that money, go ahead. A tablet or even a cell phone mounted on your handlebar is enough to get started. You won't be Mason Klein, but the fun will be there.
What I'm proposing is having one person to create a digital (PDF) roadbook for a trail in San Diego, then on the riding day, we all try to follow that trail, hit the waypoints and get to the final location. No timing required, each one rides at their own pace. The roadbook creator can add some notes about the difficulty of the trail, like "easy boring dual sport, intermediate on big bikes", so the rider can chose whatever bike he or she feels comfortable with.
I've done it once and it completely changes the way you see trails that you have ridden tens of times before!
Also, creating the roadbook is a lot of fun as well! I've used Rally Navigator and I'm attaching a sample of the roadbook I've created.
I use to do this for car rallies in Germany in the 70th. Did some around SD for the Austin Healey car club. Most people could not read the signe languish and got lost, gave up. But yes it is more entertaining than following a GPS track.

If there is enough interest we can either do a collection for pizza delivery (or someone can pick it up)or
We send someone out to get some dogs and buns we throw on the grill.
I am not going to buy in advance this time since I got stuck with a lot of food last time and I dont want to have to eat hot dogs for a month again....I will bring my food, and get the tig Welder ready.

Whos going riding section is for organizing informal rides. Not for promoting upcoming rides from other websites .
I don't think that's a ogeniced ride from ADV. Just some ADV guy from north of NORTH COUNTY going and meet up. I spend the holidays in Morro Bay to get out of the house. But would be there, no matter if SDAR or ADV.

I like shorties for levers on all my bikes (3). Currently, I have a set of eBay specials ($30) on my GSA and my KTM 500...they work. But I recently purchased a new to me Triumph Street Triple. I talked to Myles and Saibeth at Moto Forza and they recommended a set of Pazzo Racing shorties ($240)....whew!
For reasons unbeknownst to me, I agreed and ordered a set in red with various accents....surely to help my cornering skills. 3 weeks later (yesterday), they arrived!
TODAY I spent about 1&1/2 hours in the shop changing out levers while listening to "The Ballad of Dood and Juanita" front to back (ask @shutterrev). Had a great time, all by myself.
CONCLUSION: There is a difference between $30 and $240 levers. You can see it, feel it. Is it worth it? My thoughts:
Young'uns: save your money. You have car payments and mortgages....take care of that first.
Old farts (read: me): WAIT, you're old. No one gives a crap what kind of levers you have.

Your name should be on there RACE BIKE as sponsor.

I would do it right away. A 70year old friend in Australia did it and he loved it. Right now I have a connection to Madagascar. Let's see how my health works out and if I get in some better physical strength.
And my brothers life's in Mongolia. That's would make it 2 rides.

OK, I talked to Cal today. May an November are 2 day events, I will plane to go for the MAY 2024 event, all depending on my condition and everyone's Weather. I will drive my Camper with trailer and a bike up and plan to stay the whole weekend. (need my camper for food preparation). If you plane to go, I can take some Stuff, Tents, sleeping bag.ec for you and set up a group camp near the race track/ starting line.
I know its a long time till MAY, but you know me. Good things will take time.

I could use some extra hands

Hello Guys, I went and bought a big equipment today. It is in Lake Elsinore located and I will pick it up on Saturday morning. I have my Truck and trailer, but could use some extra help for my safety.
I would leave Ramona around 8:30, the drive is 1 1/2 hour, disassemble and loading 1 1/2 and ride back, 1 1/2. So I will be back by around 2 PM if everything works as planed. There is a frond load tractor at the location to help loading. I wont unload it on Saturday, since I have to make room first.
If anyone is able to come with me and give me some support, I would appreciate this.
Please let me know, here or by PM to discuss anything.
Thank you
Mr.JAJA
