    Teardrop Trailer

And keep in mind to sleep in a closed trailer with fuel fumes and smell its not healthy. It will bite you later. Install some low vents. I have build 4-5 motor camper on VW and MB base in the 70-80. There is a lot to concider when build your owne.
  2. Dum questions here from a limited rider. Since I am to handicapped to ride a bike and do the BDR, is there anything to keep me doing it in a Jeep. I know Yuma - Blybe is no problem, but what about the mountain sections? I have to think about other option to keep me going and plane something to keep me positive. So the Jeep can take, tent, sleeping gear, food, medication, fuel and some warm clothes should get me there. I would take my inreach activated, just in case. Are there any sections to narrow for a Jeep? Gates passable for bikes only?

Nice write up. Wish I could ride the dirt for some hours. But everything will be ok in some time. What question should I answer: Bikes? Adventure?

    Phone based offline navigation

I use a $60 Kyocera, run GAJA pro for $35 / 5 years subscription and download the maps via wifi as needed. I have not found a trail, not on the map. I am happy to lend it out for a weekend ride to try.

  17. I will try to ride any short distance ride in the future. Live is getting short. I will ride down to the Geico rally on Saturday only for the day from Ramona, Will be back by 6-7PM.
  18. I met the group at the motocaffee in Ramona where everyone trudeld in in the expected time. Had a coffee and the afternoon cake and a lot of talking was going on. It's an easy ride and we stopped the first time at the Southerland dam Bridge. At this point we lost one rider (Dunken)and gained one ( Hawk) who run late. Next stop the old MesaGrande trading post and one at the Hideout. One more dropout here. Than we got our sausages in Warner springs and on the road / trail we went. The sky start to get darker with the minute. As soon we arrived at camp, we picked spots and setup tents. We ended up with 6 tents at one spot and some scattered around. The candrink and shats where more popular than the tent setting. Assoon the fire got started, everyone gathered around the fire pit. Meet the new guys, learning about the past and hearing about the future. It was a active discussion going on and you have to listen to 3-4 conversations at all times. We got some sprinkles during the night but not enough to get flushed away. That would be a Adventure. In the morning, I called it a night with my wake-up call. After setting up the kitchen I made breakfast for me and started the day as it should be. The ride home went without incident, except that I got past by a TW200 and a Husky, (I stopped to take a picture). Back home safe, thanks to Tom, welcome all Noob.

  20. OK here we go. I have different setups for short Dessert trips, longer cross county trips. On a short trip I use soft bags, 2 person tent, extra 12x9 plastic floor, Air mattress with a foam layer under it, my old Military Sleeping bag, Gas stove for a 2-3 night, Regular bike gas / withe gas Coolman stove for long trips with titanium pot and lid. USB charged air pump for the air mattress.I have my kitchen kit, See 2 Land towel, 8-10 blue shop towels, a fire starter kit with 2-3 wet starter packs, a tow rope, a coffee pot, the legendary PEE bottle, 2-3 wet wipes if I still have some home. a LED head light, Coffee powder, milk with sugar mix, some toilet paper and a little shovel for digging a trench when the rain floods your tent. On long trips, I use a larger military shovel, a roofer hammer with a sharp edge, bike orientated tools and diagnostic tool, tire fix, air pump, fold down chair. The tent sleeping setup is still the same. I use ROCK straps and every thing like GPS, Phone is secured with an extra tether strap. The PEE bottle can be empty thru the back tent door if needed. In my age, it is necessary.
