  11. So my wife and I decided to go for a little ride up into the mountains to see some snow and take the dogs for a hike yesterday 79 back way through Jamul / raining at the time hit the 8 and it was snowing pretty good got to pine valley and it was a full on white out had a snack at Majors and headed up Sunrise Hwy there were about 20+ cars scrambling to put chains on even though it was snowing pretty good it was wet & there was not much accumulation and the chain thing seemed a bit excessive - but hey who am I? got up to about 5K where they sleigh ride and there had to be 50+ cars parked on the side of S1 we had already passed 3 or 4 cars that were spun out and in ditches / ravines on the way up got up to about 6K and the roads were snow covered and slippery - I believe thats what happens when it snows.....? we had passed at-least another 1/2 dozen cars off to the side spun out all with the same look on their face stopped at the pioneer trail and took the dogs for a walk up around glider point area, it was snowing really hard and super windy, minimal vis - kinda exactly what I was looking for.. got back and thought we would continue on and head down to 79 / Cuyamaca -- with another 1/2 dozen cars spun out my big mistake was thinking we could make it to Julian for a slice of pie and a cup of joe made the right turn thinking hey its only 6 miles to Julian got about 2 miles into it and it was dead stop -- 90 minutes later it was getting dark and a lot colder and all the fun and adventure slipped through the cracks decided to turn around and head back about a mile into it dead stop going south - great another 30 minutes and we started to crawl made it back to S1 intersection and the back up on 79 was all the way around the lake it seemed took a chance and figured S1 would be a little nastier this time around but worth the risk it was myself, a jeep and a snow plow all the way PV totally the right decision needles to say there was still lingering carnage from people stuck on the side of the road but not blocking passage like the 79 took 79 through Guatay, Descanso back into Jamul assuming the wrecks on the 79 up north were pretty bad I could not believe how many accidents, "STUPID DRIVERS", there were out there - Is it that hard to comprehend the reality of driving in snow a bit frustrated and in the car way to long, couldn't wait to get home one of the "many" turns on the 79 could get you.... even on dry pavement still snowing, rainy slush I came around and saw another car off to the side figured this time I would check to see if everything was alright, it was a dark turn and just nasty out he apparently came around lost control and hit a rock pretty good he was a kind older man that was out in the middle of nowhere dark snowing raining windy .....etc something inside told me to get out and see if I could help being in my wife's Subaru with limited rigging supplies I was able to rig up some ratchet straps and maneuver his car off the rock and out of the woods it was quite the ordeal as fun as it was getting muddy wet in a cold dark slushy pit - figured hey theres gotta be some karma in here somewhere turns out he was able to drive after I bailing wired his bumper back on and fixed one of his lights all in all he was very, very lucky As we were about to part ways he insisted to give me some money for all of my help I told hime its not about the money, its about driving carfully and making sure he got home for the night safe and sound all that said He was a priest from Descanso heading to a bible study at the barrette honor camp I may not be the most religious person, but there was something deep inside that made me feel pretty good about stopping around that turn...... theres no real moral just some early morning rambling BUT Whats with all the California drivers..........? SLOW DOWN

  15. http://www.motorcycl...-2012--KTM.aspx KTM has shown positive sales over the past few years while others have struggled. According to a KTM fiscal report, sales continued to go up during the first half of 2012 as compared to the same period in 2011, which was one of the brand's best years ever. During that six-month period, KTM sold 43,158 full-sized motorcycles, marking a 1919 unit gain in off-road bike sales as compared to the same period in 2011 and a gain of 7195 street bike units.
