SD KTM 530

So I guess I am the only one that showed up without a camera... Cool pics guys! The ride was an absolutely blast!!! I have been riding for many years but I had some new and exciting experiences on this ride (specifically the single track trails which were very fun)! I can’t wait to go out again. I do have to admit that my body was pretty pissed at me on Monday as I was pretty sore. I guess that means I need to get out and ride more. Great group of guys and the smack talk kept it fun... This sounds like a great ride! If it is cool, I would love to tag along. Excuse my ignorance but I want to make sure I have it all right before I venture out and find that I am at the wrong place…  Ride starts at 6:30am sharp?  I can park behind Majors Diner which is on the North side of I8?  Once I unload I am going to head south on Pine valley road to a cul-de-sac?  How far off the freeway is the cul-de-sac? Also, I am on a KTM530 with a stock fuel tank. Will there be a fuel stop or is the ride you are going on short enough that I do not need to re-fuel? Or, do I need to bring extra fuel in the truck? Sorry to sound like a pain but I am fairly new to the area and I have only riding here in SD once. My old stomping grounds are the Big Bear and Idyllwild areas. Any clarification will be greatly appreciated! Hope to see you all there… Scott

Oh yeah! Big Bear... My old stomping grounds. However, I have never ridden the trails you are all talking about. Is there an exact address that you will be meeting at once you get up the hill? I am supposed to go to Riverside for work on Friday and I am thinking I may take the bike and just stay the night. I have a couple of riding buddies in the area that have been bugging me to go riding. My thoughts are I will hit the two of them up and meet the group at the trail start. If someone can point me in the right direction as far as a meeting address and a start time I will see if they are game. Let me know... Scott

Hobiee, I had something come up for Sunday so I was looking at tomorrow. I am going to tag along with another group meeting up in Alpine... I am sure we will see each other on a ride eventually. Scott

This looks like a fun ride. What is the range on fuel? I am only good for about 70-80 miles without fuel. Is there gas when you leave highway 8? Or is it worth meeting in Julian or is that way out of the way?

I am brand new to the site and fairly new to the area. I see the post on Lucardi (Titled “Let's ride over to The Hideout and get a burger for lunch”) and it looks like a fun and fairly local ride (I am in Scripps Ranch). Is anyone going to hit this trail this weekend? If so I would like to tag along. I have no idea where this trail is and I do not want to go alone anyways. Let me know... Scott

Hi all, My name is Scott, 32 from San Diego (Scripps Ranch area)... I moved to SD from Beaumont, Ca about 8 months ago and just got my bike out of the shop and ready to go (it was sitting and needed some carb work). I ride a 2008 KTM 530 (street legal) and like to hit the trails on the weekends. Before I moved, I used to ride the fire roads in Big Bear and Idyllwild all the time. I know there are a ton of trails in this area and I am looking for some people to go riding with. I will look for info on the informal post forum and look forward to hooking up with some of you to go riding... Scott
