Next tag: Another view: Clues: 1. The name of the road this pond is on rhymes with the road KLXBEN's tag was on. 2. The road to this pond has both pavement and dirt. 3. The road to this pond will also take you to a waterfall.

Ha Bikeslut, you got me good! Alright, new tag is on its way.
-
Hey Bikeslut, go for it!!! Get Paul's tag and post a new one. I had such a great ride today finding Ben's tag that I could care less which one of us posts the next one.

TAG! Picture is taken from a different angle. But it is the same location. The water crossing on Boulder Creek Road. New tag will be posted shortly.

Oak Grove to Toro Peak Saturday, June 18
Mistress of the dual replied to CableJockey's topic in Informal Local Rides & Who's Going Riding!
That was a super fun Noob friendly ride right up to the point where I launched myself over the berm. The ride to that point was very challenging for me but I was doing it and my confidence level was sky high. So high in fact that I thought I could tackle the big rutted out hill. Opps. I haven't ridden much dirt in 6 months so I have to kind of start over but once I get some practice in I wouldn't mind riding that route again. Only next time I'll have Mike ride my bike up the hill. -
I've been to Bodie a few times, always in August and the weather was perfect every time; high 70s to low 80s. Last year we rode in on Cottonwood Canyon Road. It was nice, easy and big bike friendly.

Are you referring to this section, Beezzz? -
I used to work with a guy who was part of the Chernobyl clean up crew. He had some very interesting stories to tell.

Jamul to Julian Backroads Ride
Mistress of the dual replied to wonderwoman's topic in Informal Local Rides & Who's Going Riding!
Hey Wonderwoman, I just got up (yeah, I know it's 9:30. Bikeslut would be ashamed) and saw your post. If you go a little later I'll meet you in Julian for lunch. I PM'd you my phone number. Z -
Big Bear is super easy for a novice bike rider. You take the lift up and ride the fire roads back down. Nothing technical. No rocks, sand or major ruts. The fire roads are all smooth and graded and not too steep. You will still be going downhill most of the time so it's a good idea to make sure the brakes are in good working order.

nice to see you again. Baldbeemer and I do a little MTB riding. I suck at it so you wouldn't want to ride with me but Baldbeemer is a halfway decent rider. We'll be doing at least one MTB trip to Big Bear this year and I'll post up when we're going.
-
If you can find that spot on Dunderberg Meadow Road make a right. I didn't ride up the trail because it got a bit too rugged for me but Baldbeemer did and he said it was really nice. If you go straight the road will take you up through an aspen grove to Virginia Lakes.

My suggestion is get a GPS, turn it off, go exploring and then turn the GPS on to find your way back to camp. There are dirt roads all over the place off of Green Creek Road. Oh, and don't forget to bring a camera; that area is breathtaking! Here's a shot of Dunderberg Meadow, right near Green Creek Road.

We all know it's not really unfindable. Perhaps you would prefer the term "undesirable to find". At any rate, your tag was posted on May 8th, three weeks from then would be May 29th. That means that the game has been eligible for hijacking for a week and KLXBEN has every right to post up a new tag.

Big Bear questions and/or opinions....

The Adventure Pass is good for Angeles, Cleveland, Los Padres & San Bernardino Forests link here. The Yellow Post Sites off of forset road 1N02 link here are pretty cool. -
Rule #7: Tags must be won within 3 weeks. If a Tag has not been won within 3 weeks it will be deemed unfindable and anyone may hijack the game and post a new Tag. Paul posted his tag on May 8th. It's been unfound for well over 3 weeks so technically it's legal for anyone to hijack. Congratulations to Paul for having the first official unfindable tag. Let the game continue. I have a funny feeling there's going to be a mad rush to get this new tag.

Had I known the game was going to degrade this badly I may not have suggested we play. Although, I have met you guys and I should have known this would happen.

Ah, the benefits of riding to work on a motorcyle: Fuel efficiency Lower emissions than cars Actually enjoy going to work (even if you don’t enjoy being at work) Being one of the lucky few that has a reserved parking spot Stress relief moments after leaving work Not having to sit in stop and go traffic Can use the carpool lane

I'm out too. My weekend is already booked. Be sure to take some pictures and post up so that those of us too busy to ride this weekend can live precariously through you. -
My blue lobster would loooove to have them over for dinner.

The tag was posted on May 8th so it's got 3 weeks from then to be tagged before it is declared unfindable. Your clues are: South of the 8, east of the 5 & west of Alpine; sign says "Study Area"; and it's easily accessible by big bike. If you're feeling guilty and want to give out more and easier clues that is up to you.

Big Bear May 6-8
Mistress of the dual replied to dsfox's topic in 1 to 3 Day Ride Write-Ups, Stories and Photos
We wound up taking the freeway for a good portion of our trip home; it was a bit cold and uneventful. I already miss Big Bear and can't wait for Coon Creek in the fall.
