Perfectly said CID. Baldbeemer grew up in Escondido and has never heard of Turner Lake. The point to the game is to learn about new interesting places you can ride to in your own back yard.

I have to say that DangerMonkey's tag is valid. We can tell it's the same location and I think that is good enough. When I tagged KLXBEN's Boulder Creek tag (page 17 & 18) I didn't get the picture in the exact same spot he did but nobody questioned it. If my tag stands then DangerMonkey's should as well. That being said; good job to everyone who got the tag DangerMonkey, it's up to you to post the next one.

Most epic street ride was Highway 199 in northern California/southern Oregon. I don't think I have ever been more at peace with myself or the world than when I was riding that road.

Good clues were given. No trying to weasel more out of CID. Chris, that's one of the best tags I've seen. Great picture, great bike and great clues.

Cage Tour of Colorado
Mistress of the dual replied to Bagstr's topic in A Forum for GENERAL PHOTOS & Videos
Beautiful pictures. One of these days I'll do a tour of Colorado; revisit my 3rd home. -
For our 11th wedding anniversary my wonderful husband bought me a face lift. Before After New plastics, new tires and new headlight. Doesen't she look beautiful?

Hey Randy, I'd like to hear the very sarcastic response you sent them.

I thought about taking pictures and then kicking it over into some gravel but it's a dual sport and I expect it to get scratched up. I don't think I'll do much crying about it when it happens. It doesn't look anything like your DRZ; it's not encased in a mud shell. We'll get a ride in sometime. Mike works this coming weekend and we are in Big Bear the following weekend. After that we should be free. I'm hoping we get a few local one night camping trips in before it gets too cold.

Hope you had a fun filled day.

CORE 2011 Mammoth Ride

You guys have some serious balls riding next to that 200' drop off. -
I commute to work via motorcycle. My route is about 25 miles and contains no freeway. About 2-3 times a week other riders will pull up in front of me while I am waiting at lights. Sometimes I have split lanes and I’m sitting between 2 cars and they will squeeze between me and one of the cars and plant themselves just ahead of me at an angle where when the light turns green I will have to wait for them to go first. Sometimes I am first in line and have the whole lane to myself and they will have split lanes to get to me, sharing my lane but pulling ahead of me. These riders are also putting themselves a couple of feet into the intersection to get their position. I don’t get a nod, a wave or anything; they never look at me. I’ve had all sorts of bikes do this; Cruisers, sport bikes and standards. The funny thing is that this only happens when I’m on my DRZ400; it has never happened when I was on my F650GS. Anyone else encounter a lack of respect while on your dual sport bikes?

I wasn't going to go there, but since you mentioned it I was thinking "Damn, I don't even want to know what those KLR guys have to put up with". But in your case if anyone gives you any crap while you're sitting at a light you can just wheelie away from them (as long as there are no cops around).

MSN Article on Adventure Touring & Bikes
Mistress of the dual replied to KTMrad's topic in Open Discussion
Thanks for the article Randy. I clicked on the link in the article for "Women Turning on to Motorcycles". In that article is states: "What type of two-wheel machine are women choosing to ride today? The MIC survey shows that 69 percent of them favor “on-highway” motorcycles while only 19 percent prefer scooters. Of the remaining group, 11 percent ride “off-highway” bikes and only 1 percent can enjoy riding on or off paved roads with their dual-purpose machines." Does that make me a 1%er? -
Oh, I get it......it's not disrespect, it's extra respect.
-
I don't think I would have given any of it a second thought except for the different treament I get while on my DRZ as opposed to my BMW. I also get waved to about 75% more often while I'm on my BMW than on my DRZ.

I thought about getting my ass out of bed at o'dark hundred to join on this so called noob friendly ride. Glad I decided to sleep in instead. Looks like you all had fun. Looks like I would have been over my head and not having any fun at all. -

GeoMoto's Labor Day in Southern Utah "Free"
Mistress of the dual replied to GeoMoto's topic in Informal Local Rides & Who's Going Riding!
Some friends of ours from Denmark are riding around the US on a couple of DRZs. They are doing a live ride report on Adventure Rider. They just posted this a couple of days ago: Next stop was Zion National park. we could not find a camp site near the park.. but looking online we found that we could camp for the same price as in the park at Zion ponderosa resort.. 20 dollars a night including pool, towels and tons more stuff. NICE Do you see our tent? Not the worst place! -
I have to disagree with the shopping one. It’s been well over 14 months since I bought my DRZ and my fancy car and both are still giving me very high levels of satisfaction.

Thomas Mt and Big Bear Camping
Mistress of the dual replied to piratemonkey's topic in 1 to 3 Day Ride Write-Ups, Stories and Photos
Awesome....if this is a trailer for your TAT report then I can't wait for the feature presentation. Thanks for the the extra tent fly tip, it's brilliant. We have a Big Agnes 3 man tent and the fly takes up almost as much space as the tent itself when packed. The footprint is only about a fifth of the size of the tent so I'm going to look into getting an extra footprint instead. Can I start a Simon fan club? Can I request more pictures of Simon in your ride reports? -

What would you want in a trailer?
Mistress of the dual replied to ADV Bum's topic in Equipment & Technical Forum
One of these would be great for quick overnighters. Adventure Trailers. I like the Teardrop trailer. What they really need to do is make one that can be pulled with an adventure bike.
