If it's the same shims for the 350 you can get one of mine. I have a bag of them.
-
The best thing to do is take the one that is slightly off to the store and use your mic and find the right one. Or just buy a bunch of them and have an assortment on hand and sand them down if you need to.

doing well! doing more work on other peoples' bikes then my own. then when I actually try and go riding my brakes are mush and I run out of gas Bring the shock over and I'll do it for free and make a new video with it.
-
single cam is easier? there are still 4 valves last time I did one? if the shim is slightly too large which is usually the way it goes, you can sand them down wet on fine grit paper. no need to go to motoworld.

Sounds like you already crossed your Ts and dotted the i. If you have issues at idle, changing the main isn't going to matter. Just use the recommended JD settings, they are really good on those bikes. It really sounds like you are on the right track with the carb. But I have to wonder if maybe a valve is out of adjustment or the timing chain is off a tooth or something if it just won't run right. I would have to ride it to see what is going on I guess. Hard to describe "running bad" problems through the web.

Also a good idea to use ultra copper on the exhaust pipe joints to make sure you don't have any air leaks there. And one last thing that is very critical. When you put the carb in, the air boot has a small cut out in it for the idle circuit. You can align it by twisting the carb. Use a small mirror to ensure its in the right place by shining a flashlight into the air boot with the filter out and hold a compact mirror in there. Here is my ktm talk post on that from 2009 http://ktmtalk.com/showthread.php?323511-RFS-carb-boot-trick-(just-thought-I'd-share)&highlight=carb+alignment

you need to take a can of carb cleaner and clean all the passages. check the accelerator pump diaphragm. then put the jets and needle settings that JD recommended for your riding conditions. Fix the breather hose although it should not be an issue if the others were ok. And lastly set the air/fuel screw 1.5 turns out and then get the bike hot and set the idle. That should be a good start. Those carbs aren't pickey at all. Once you have it running ok, you should never have to mess with it again.

By the way, after being "overcharged" or tried to overcharge me one too many times on OEM parts. And after fixing several peoples' bikes that had shotty work done at AA ktm, I would advise everyone to stay away. Sorry, I am sure there are many happy customers here that may not like that. I used to always defend RJ too. But Ive seen too much completely unacceptable work and straight up trying to charge way more than retail on parts. Buyer beware.

the MX carbs (honda) have a shorter squirt from the accelerator pump and on the 2007+ ktm(maybe on older ones as well) tney routed the engine breather back into the carb for smog reasons. That hole has to be plugged if the bike is desmogged. Otherwise the FCRs are all basically the same.

JD kit is all good. Put it back in. If you cant figure it out you can bring it to me and I will make it work right for a very reasonable cost or it will be free if I cant fix it. I just did someones RFS carb fixup, the accelerator pump was rotten. And a different guy is bringing one to clean up next weekend. Maybe you elaborate on "runs like crap"? Bogs when you whack the throttle open or what?

It's supposed to rain next week so that should be good. Not sure I can even camp out but maybe still stick around and make a fire and have some beers. -

Went out to jacumba today. When we arrived, there were a bunch of boarder patrol stopped at the kiosk and they had two trucks pulled over and guys in the back of their vehicles. They said the one truck was positive for drugs by the dog and that the owner of that vehicle was a known drug trafficker. They had just come down from valley of the moon area. Bad guys are going to jail for a long time for that one. We didn't take many photos but it was pretty nice out. A little chilly and nice dirt after the rains. Had a few run ins with the cholla but nothing broken.

watch out for the cholla

Thread resurrection! Opuntia has got to be just as bad or worse than the cholla. Not the wimpy ones with pears on them. The round purple ones with the little micro thorns that are like insulation. That dude with the cholla in the face is F'd!!! -
I drove up to northern CA a few weeks back. It was raining pretty good through the central valley. And guess what I saw? Farm irrigation sprinklers running while it was raining. Wonderful.
-
Did you know that 80% of the state's human water use goes to farmers? Now, I am not attacking farmers. I am just putting things in perspective. You can all stop flushing your toilets, go weeks without showering, let your grass die, and on and on. But guess what? You are not going to fix the water shortage. Period.

Call motion pro, they have real people that speak American on the phone.
-
by thevway, is it 17mm or 27?
-
dont use a float bowl wrench, the lever is too short and its 12 points instead of 6. Get the motion pro tire sppons with ktm hex ends. It has 10/13/17/27/32mm ends http://www.ktm-parts.com/AOMC/product/KTMHETK/78129984000
