Looks great! I'd be into a noob friendly, easy does it, big bike ride. I ride a 2012 Triumph Scrambler. I feel ok mostly on fire roads to SLIGHTLY more challenging terrain. It's a lot of bike to handle but I'm trying to get better at riding dirt with it. I wonder if this ride would've been something I could handle. Was it steep? Loose? Rocky? Be in touch if you're planning another ride. I just got back from a trip through Tecate out hwy 2 through La Rumorosa and down hwy 5 to Pete's camp returing via hwy 3 to Ensenada then hwy 1 into T.J. to S.D.

Cool. Thanks for the reply. I'll be down there on the Triumph with the lady camping for a couple days then to Ensenada for a night. If anyone else is gonna be down at that time say hello.

I've reserved a space at Petes Camp November 9th and 10th. Anyone know if or think it'll be crazy there that close to the start of the 1000? Just curious. Thoughts?

Just read TSR's ride report entitled "mountain gates closed" and it made me wonder what kind of temps should we be prepared for this Saturday. My guess is something similar to what those pictures reflect. If that's the case, I'm glad I read that post. It looks like it could be down right cold out there... Will layer accordingly.

Hey Paul, You mentioned Indian Flats in your first post. Do you know anything about the dirt road that shoots up and off to the right as you're entering the gate to the campground? I was out there for my first time last year checking out the campground solo on my Drz and wanted to explore that dirt road but wasn't sure what I'd be in for, like how difficult, how long, and where it comes out? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks, Paul

Bike is loaded, both van and bike are gassed up. I've transcribed the directions and am in for the ride. Will get on the road around 6 in the morning, looking forward to it. Hope to see you all there. Paul

I do believe I'm in on this ride barring torrential downpours. I hope I can find you all. From the directions it seems like the meet up spot is off of but not on McCain Valley Rd. I'll be driving a white Ford econoline conversion with a white and yellow DR-Z on the back. If anyone sees me on the road gimme a holler. Is there an approximate head count at this point? I think I'm gonna do this. I've been wanting to ride with you all for a while and was bummed I didn't just get up and go on last weeks ride. I may need more detail on where to meet up, I've never ridden there. I know where the Coral Canyon entrance is but not sure about the rest. Look forward to it. Paul Oh, I see now where it is. Will have to really motivate myself to make this one.
