Wintyfresh 46 Posted October 30, 2013 The plaque is located at N32 47.147 W116 08.683. Googling turns up that he was 39 when he passed away, just curious if anyone knows any more about what happened?
Oracle 195 Posted October 30, 2013 No, but I'm interested too. Did you stumble across this while riding?
Wintyfresh 46 Posted October 30, 2013 I was researching some routes in San Diego Trail Map when I noticed it. I didn't start regularly going out to Anza Borrego until 2000 but figured some of the old hands here might know more about it.
Wintyfresh 46 Posted October 30, 2013 Got this courtesy of StevesKJ over on the Outdoor Adventures forum. I knew Mark since the early nineties. He wasn't very old and seemed in good health. A little wild sometimes - he drove a full-sized lifted F-250 through the "Squeeze". It wasn't a pretty sight!!! I wasn't out with them when he expired. I think I would have really freaked out. We did put the marker out there a short time later in his memory. Sounds like he passed of a heart attack.
Brian Masters 0 Posted October 31, 2013 Heart attack from the tale I heard told. I love taking the Jeep out through there. Some day soon I'm going to get the bike down that trail.
