SEQUOIA NATIONAL FOREST EXTENDS TRAIL PLAN PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD

Recommended Posts

Recieved today from the Stewards of the Sequioa.

Our repeated pleas to extend the all too short comment period have finally been heard by the Forest Service.

We understand the public has submitted about 800 comments so far in favor of keeping Sequoia National Forest trails open as well as preserving traditional access to Lake Isabella. Considering tens of thousands of people enjoy the motorized recreation access in Sequoia there should be a lot more letters. Please help the pile grow to over two thousand.

Please take two minutes and send them a letter using predrafted comments or your own words. Please act now.

Once the trails are closed it will be too late. It does not get any easier than this to do your part to help make a difference. Comments must be received no later than April 20, 2009, at 4:30 p.m.

WE ARE STILL LOOKING FOR SOME MORE VOLUNTEERS FOR THE 4/18 AND 5/9 TRAIL APPRECIATION DAYS

They are listed in the column on the right of this alert. Please come out and help the trails you love. You can register for the days you want to help by replying to this email.

THANKS TO THOSE OF YOU WHO BOUGHT TRAIL CLOSURE INSURANCE

Your funding is helping Stewards to be more effective in our efforts to keep your trails open.

Your Tax Deductable Receipts will be sent out shortly. Click here if you are still in need of insurance

Please forward this email to others who might be interested.

Together we can help keep our trails open!!
