Chief Gunner 2 Posted May 23, 2008 Just found this and thought I'd share it here. Daredevil's Son Ready To Top Dad's Kings Island Jump MASON -- Evel Knievel's son is hoping to top the jump that his daredevil motorcycle jumper dad made at Kings Island more than 30 years ago. Robbie Knievel will attempt to clear 24 Coke trucks on Saturday at Kings Island. That would double the distance his dad covered in 1975, when he went 114 feet to clear 14 buses at the park . Knievel announced his retirement for the second time after the jump, though he continued doing stunts for the next few years. His son turned 46 on May 7 and said he wants to attempt the leap before he winds down his career. Robbie Knievel said the Kings Island jump took on more significance after his dad died in November from pulmonary fibrosis. WLWT.com will show the jump live on Saturday night at 7 p.
