00 640 kickstand

So the 640 came with a centerstand ripped off, I looked at rewelding the broken part but would rather have a regular kickstand. I went to see RJ and he said it looks like a 99 kickstand would fit (there is a place to mount it up). Trailtech says theirs wont fit. Anybody done this or have the hookup on what fits?
