Craig called in and requests for me to posts on the highlight of his ride today. I hope I am doing this right. "Hammerin Hammon climbed Heart attack hill on his 650L". States he had a great and awesome ride. He rode with Dan Ryan, a friend of Randy Lozar. Rode part of the Desert Dash forward and backwards. He is now camping at Holmes Camp at Ocatillo Wells alone and is awaiting for anyone of you who is interested in riding with him tommorow morning. If so, you may meet him at Holmes camp, cell#760-271-6865. Bye for now, Mrs Hammerin Hammon. (Boy, the costs of his ticket pass from me for these rides is sure building up. :) ) Good bye.

What a nice ride, left Carlsbad around 6:00 AM. Friday, met Steve Dodds and Dan Ryan at Banner store. We started from there and went backwards on the D.D. coarse to Butterfield ranch. Then we rode some wash, to another wash, to a canyon, to Heart Attack Hill. I asked who was going first, Steve said ( No way) so I asked Dan, he said he has crashed 10 times, but made it once. I didnt understand why we rode so far not to climb the hill. I said well you better move your bike. I went up the left rock side then cut across, to the far right so I could turn left, into the smaller lip. I got to the top and asked them to get a picture. They thought I was going to crash, so they already had the camera out, and told me they took 2 pictures of me rideing up. Good I thought (I didnt want to climb it again, ) just to get a picture. Dan said he would E Mail his pictures when he has the time.

After that we headed for the Blue Inn, to get gas, for Steve's KTM. He didnt quite make it, so Dan went back to rescue him. After lunch we rode the DD. coarse backwardsm, to Banner Store. 150 mile loop, wow.

I said good bye and started to sing Yo Ho, Yo Ho, a Pirates life for me, as I rode of into the sunset,

I set up camp, at Homes Camp, at O.W.

Saturday morning I ate breakfast, then went on a site seeing tour of O.W.

I had a great time, and want to thank Dan Ryan, for leading a great ride.

Day one 264 mile

Total milage 415 :)

Craig.
