adventures Weekend in the Mojave with a few folks...
shutterrev posted a topic in 1 to 3 Day Ride Write-Ups, Stories and Photos
Last weekend I attended the 2022 RevZilla Get On ADV Fest, hosted by Rawhyde Adventures, in Mojave CA. A few months ago I had posted on a few different club platforms that I am a part of, seeking a rental dualsport for my long time best friend from back home to use. He has never ridden a dirt bike, or in dirt much at all for that matter but has ridden street for many years. Huge shoutout to @tntmo from this Forum, he let up borrow his Husky 450 for the weekend, and it ended up being the perfect bike for my buddy Ryan to hit the desert for the first time with. Also want to thank my good friend Perry for letting me use the bike hauler since mine Is still somewhere in the ether making its way to me I could tell my buddy was excited, but also didn't know what he was getting in to with the desert riding. Since we were on dualsports, and the 'easy' route was mostly pavement, we set off on the 'moderate' route day one. Ryan did really well, and was even passing bikes already on his way to the Husky monument - Ryan attributes his quick learning to a lifetime of riding standup jetskis. First thing he said when we cruised the washes, 'this is like riding a standup jetski' haha who would have thought. Anyway, the event was really well organized, and run. If you participated in things, there was a lot to participate in, and a lot going on. All sorts of vendors, rides, bikes, demos, etc. There is a lot of events out there to go to, this is just another one that I'll add to the annual schedule if I can Here is some photos, and again huge shoutout to @tntmo for loaning us the Husky 💪 -

I've never been to death valley and i'm getting the idea I've been missing out. I've been to borrego/ocotillo numerous times and this would be a nice change. In the latest issue of motorcyclist there is an article on the original BMW GS with some pics of DV that are intriguing. There was a recent ride there but I wasn't able to attend but want to get to DV before it gets too hot. March should be good weather wise--not too warm not too cold. i'd like to get up there either on a thurs eve or fri am and return sunday and stay at panamint. I would ride a KTM 1190 so no technical trails, mostly exploring the park dirt and street, going to: Trona, Pinnacles, Charcoal Kilns, Teakettle Junction, Ubehebe Crater, Crankshaft Junction, and anything else interesting. LMK if you are interested!
