Honda 650L electrical help!
dirtrider86 replied to dirtrider86's topic in Equipment & Technical Forum
AWSOME it worked!!!! Thanks! -
I'm having my motor put back together and in the mean time I'm tearing down my bike and planning on repainting everything and cleaning it up because I havn't done that for a while. So I have the majority of the electrial off except for one clip on the down tube where the motor oil is stored. I have spent way to much time looking at this clip and can't figure out how to take it off. The clip slides over a little peice of metal and I can't find anything to press to release it. I have tried to tap it lightly with a hammer, slide it off, anything you can can think of I have done. If any of you guys know how to take this thing off It would be GREATLY appreciated. The bike is a 1993 honda xr650L. Thanks, Robert.

Speaking of "stolen", you should feel a little bad yourself there dirtrider86 Sa-weeet ride and a sweet deal too (all the goodies you need, nothin' you don't). Can't wait to get out there and follow you around in the Bronco I was bummed that my white jeep got stolen, but this black beauty cheered me up.lol I can't wait to get out to the desert myself to do a little wheelin.

hey guys I started this thread when I bought my first jeep. I thought I might as well post my new jeep after the first one got stolen. Anyways here is the new Bengel jeep.

I would buy a 450 in a heartbeat! I'm tired of my 300+ honda. I would sell the 650L the frist chance I get to buy a 450 honda that is street legal.

the bikes have a ton of problems. They have coolent run into the motor oil somehow, the maps restrict the performance of the engine way to much, the power is on the top end so if you like to lug the bike, this bike isn't good for it. some of the motorcycles don't have any problems but most of them, they do. They are expensive and if you break it you will be looking at 2 months to get it fixed. I was REALLY interested in buying one until I did my research... and I'm not going to get one now.lol I went on aprilias forums and talked to some of the guys that have bought the motorcycles and they said they would have rather bought the 525 or 450 ktm exc's.

Full Moon Saturday Sept. 29--- What Ya Think?

If I get my bike running in time and no finals from school, I'm in. -
They might have great mechanics and good turn around time but, their parts department sucks. Not only did they tell me that it would take 6 months to get replacement fender. Then you call the parts department and ask for a jet for a 640 ktm and over the phone and they will say that they have the jet you want then you go to motoworld to pick it up and motoworld tells you they don't carry that jet or carb and they are a dealer for ktm. As far as buying parts I'm sticking to sportcycles in la mesa.

Do you guys have any idea how hard it is to have a SDAR, and bike junkie for a dad? It is very detrimental to his health, along with his families and friends. It seems since SDAR we never see him any more. We used to see him once in a while. Now we just remember him! It’s gotten so bad that at his shop he had the microwave, fridge, TV and honey bucket moved into his office. He just says he doesn’t want to miss anything important? Seems the only time he comes out anymore is to ride. The door flies open, he runs by, the bike starts, and he’s gone. My sister and I had to learn to ride at an early age just to see my dad once in a while. When we did ride he would just roost us and knock us off of our bikes. It is lot better now that he is old. When I put him in the dirt, it gives me plenty of time to unlock the truck, get loaded, and gone before he can catch me. I am really surprised that he started this post. The Judge said he wasn’t even supposed to be on the internet until his parole was up in 4 more months. RIGHT OLD MAN! GOT YA!

Stop by the PSD Motorsports booth and say hi. We should be there Friday and Saturday, and riding here Sunday with you and your guests on the noob ride.

Steering Stabilizer Questions
dirtrider86 replied to Metal Twister's topic in Equipment & Technical Forum
did you guys install these things yourself? Or was it a shop thing? -
you guys did say projects right? well here is mine. Started out as a 1947 Plymouth 4 door special deluxe. I bought it 2003 in original condition that’s when the whammy started. Since then, the changes are; 3 1/4 taper chop, 5 inch body channel, shortened the back suicide doors, lengthen the front doors, welded up rear passenger door, welded up the rear fenders, pied the hood, welded vw head lights on the front, shaved door handles est., complete new floor, wheel wells and tubs, passenger door post opens with rear door, sitting on original boxed frame Z’d, Vallaire front clip, Jag rear end, 318 Dodge motor with automatic trans, done it all so far my self. Still needs electrical, glass, and interior. My dad made me do it to learn the trade and keep me occupied. I have enjoyed it so far.

Intro to DUAL SPORT ride
dirtrider86 replied to Metal Twister's topic in Informal Local Rides & Who's Going Riding!
I have ants in my pants to go riding but my scooter is out of commission right now. I would like to try some of the huskies out and probably be up there at 9 so I'm not waiting in a long line and while it’s still cool. If you guys want, when I go up to Mc Cain's to test ride the husky's I could bring my trailer incase anything goes wrong with the motorcycles. I doubt anything will happen but just in case, better safe than sorry.
