  1. Sounds good...week after next.
  2. Hayden Spring Dunes Jojoba Wash area of Volcanic Hills Had hopes that Sweeny Wash would connect south to Jojoba, but the track ended a couple of miles in the canyon after traversing some very Deep and twisty sand. Typically, satellite views don't always pan out. As always, the Volcanic Hills were a fun jaunt. Paul had not been into Indian Canyon, so we cruised up that direction to finish our ride. Yet another day at the park.

Steve McQueen truly was one of us...

" For a Man's Ride,,Ride Honda." I'm impressed Notice how he takes a " Different path to lead the rest." What a low seat! That was considered,,, suspension?? Rear end was kickin' around. That bike kicked ass on all others when it came out. Don and I remember, don't we. Well, except for the 400 Cross. Hey Steve, can you do a few more wheelies please? If you can't we need to get Schwinn in here.

Last week was such a good time, why not more? Arriving 0900-0930 if I get a riding pal. If no one joins in, it could be a more lazy arrival. Intermediate difficulty rating, Mucho de Sand, about 75 miles, could travel south, north or both. Tubes, tools, water ( kinda warmish last Friday) and snacks. No fuel or food stops. Hope to see you.

    Gert Wash

To be clear; I did not ride Gert Wash, I hiked from Arroyo Seco del Diablo up a ridge to the mesa. On the mesa up above is the small ravine that is the start of one fork of Gert Wash. This was a Stealth Hiking Thread!

    Gert Wash

" it's hard to get interesting photos riding by yourself," BS BS I mean, O Contrare (someone help me with the French) I find better results solo. Six guys rapping their throttles, ready to roll, allows only "From the seat" shots of the gang against the trail sign.

    Gert Wash

Gert Wash?? http://maps.google.c...1cdf98d57aa70da Trail starts near the green creosote bush on the left and moves up the left contour in a clockwise ark. The trail is on the ridge to the left of the Knob Hill. THIS IS A FOOT TRAIL, NO VEHICLES! Diablo Wash Top of trail Soft footing Top of Gert Wash View N. West toward Canebrake, overlooking Arroyo Seco del Diablo. Down to Diablo
  10. The Cold front was something of a surprise, what with the bright sun out. Mid 30's as I set out at a leisurely 10:30. Julian Coffee & tea was Hard to leave with the hard wind blowing outside. 11. Sorry Gents, I couldn't resist. At 59, I have a limited number of rides on the schedule. Every time the AARP sends me a membership offer, it pushes me.
  12. In celebration of Friday, the 690 and me will be riding out of South Carrizo Wash, arriving about 0900. Plan to do Loop north up Tapiado, down Diablo Drop toward Hapaha Flats then down to Dos Cabezas and Volcanic Hills. Whatever inspires. We would still be Out There finding our way without. Jarrett at the Phone Booth ~3 or 4 years ago Is the Tetherball court by the Arch gone too?
  20. "Gone?" No sign of one up on top of the hill at the end of your track.
