  2. Hi Mimi, saw your McCain report. Looked fun for a Small bike. Heading south I passed a Wrangler hauling a Green Bike about to turn on Poway Rd. You wouldn't know anyone that fits that description,,,would ja.

Morgan Freeman solves the race problem..

We are Soo Tribal. The human mind is wired to define the We and the They. Around the world it is demonstrated by physical appearance, language or religion. Apparently, We need to gather among our team ( read Orange Crew ) for security, and identify a They group ( read BMW Offroaders / Suzuki riders, etc ) to pound on in order to validate ourselves. Those with the power define the rules. ( read investment bankers ) The rest of us dance to the tune. See how easy it is!

  5. Mission accomplished The Native Americans from the pueblos offer much more interesting jewelry and pottery at better pricing. Lot'sa expensive stuff for the costume drama crowd if you buy in the shops.

    socks and sandals

While we are discussing important topics, What Up with those synthetic Skirts the athletes call shorts? Back when I played pick up basketball, the 3" drop was the Style. Think Bill Walton 1975,,,Or try not to think of it. Watching the NCAA Tournament, it's hard to believe the coaches let the combatants where skirts they could trip on with dot 3 seconds to play and the game tied. Matter of time 'till a kid trips over his skirt on the way down the court for the winning layup.

    Designing an aftermarket tank

Zina, Is this tank designer/ ex open to designing tanks for other bikes, i.e. the 690? Something to compete at a lower price point witht the English kidney tanks up front. http://www.rally-raidproducts.co.uk/products/Tank_Kit Dave
  10. Parking Lot @ Hover Dam, Didn't see owner. Apparently they "dropped" the camper on a flatbed Overland Custom?? Looks like a big Dakar Chase Truck.

    MT43 Pressure

My front wears evenly, for a long time; the rear wears the center 75% level at about 2500miles. Rim lock, front and rear, as well as weights. PS - Does this qualify as a Tire Thread??

    MT43 Pressure

Call me lazy, but I run 15lbs front and rear. To my mind 8-10 is fine if someone can guarantee there are zero sharp edged rocks out there. Seems every ride I slam the front at least once, having missed missing that obstacle in the the track. Gotta look down and check if the rim is bent. Not so far. at 15lbs the tread flexes under my boot. What more do I need? Add that 12 miles of pavement to connect back to Pinyon Trailhead, and 15 seems good. CDy, I took out the 16d insurance, You haven't done that??
  13. Hey this ride was not a pre-school event! UC did just fine. His pace suffered after his 180, unscheduled. We did a bunch off pretty deep sand,,,with a chaser of tight turns. ( Try Inspiration Canyon and Wash sometime ) No big steps or drops was all missing. I am certain his skills have improved after our little loop.

We know you are all men to not even mention the "breeze" that was blowin'?
  15. It was going to be Too Hot, Too Windy, Surprisingly it Worked Out. Met Beezzz and Co on last leg of loop. To top it off, N2TM who was to have departed because of heat, was waiting for Captcham and I at the trucks. Surprised it turned out so well.

The visor is removable for freeway blasts, nylon screws. The Shoei has a short visor, but have not tested it. Neither the of these adventure helmets are a good choice for road based riding. but hey, they look good!

" triangulate" I hereby open this thread to triangulation. Arai = Great function. The face shield is da bomb in wind or road. Although; Arai and Shoei fit differently. Try them on before purchase.

http://www.rei.com/product/805907 Chris, Sounds like you are replacing your GPS, once again. While inspecting the the REI site, it shows a new antenna attachment,,,mmm. I know you and Doug prefer the 76, but I doubt that unit has the new and improved screen, memory and software. Can you tell my how hard it is to use your old Topo CD on a new unit. Does Garmin block download to a second unit?

Talked with the REI guy at the counter. He doesnt think the 62 is worth an upgrade if you have the 60. 78s antenna is "patch" vs "quad helix" for 60 & 62. No idea if that is significant. The usb power cord bothers me. Tho not like I would bend if off. 78 seems a larger device to hang.
  20. Vic, Hi there. A few of us ride during the week, but this week I'm busy with home remodeling. Keep an eye out in the Informal Ride pages. Much of what I do is on a Intermediate Challenge nature, i.e. Sand and a few drops/climbs. Post up a ride for an area you want to explore. People will come forward or at a minimum give advice. Dave
