  1. That gets you Hi, Lo and Off for the headlight. Could use this to replace the miserable KTM turn signal switch.

    Voyager GPS. by Trail Tech.

http://www.gpscity.com/garmin-montana-600.html Regarding Screens: I use the static cling vinyl to protect the screen, and replace it when needed. Visited REI over the weekend to try to see the 600 series 4" Touchscreen. No luck on the 600 but I did operate the display Oregon touchscreen With my Klim riding gloves. No problem! Next up is to take a piece of the static cling sheet and test the 600 screen. The "Rugged Mount" appears to have four mounting holes through it's back which can attach to a RAM ball. The 600s should be arriving in stores soon.

Roaming around up on the Idaho Panhandle. Though you Dry-Landers would appreciate a few green pictures. Unfortunately, no moto with me here. Had to haul to much household stuf.

  5. If you are in the area, the campsites are $8. Off Highway 6 north of Princeton and Harvard. I can just squeeze the 690 onto these trails, so don't try it with your GSA.
  6. San Diego is a great place to ride and live. The Mountains are a whole separate experience. The. Gods live in the mountains!

    Feeding the habit

    Yum. That's fun. Suspension - 14" minus 3" = 11" shorter seat.
  14. Doug, Yeah, both those photos have your nose down. Either you are chopping the throttle, NOT, or the rear is literally kicking you in the .... Love the White Suit.
  15. Doug, How did you find the Red Bike as compared to your Orange? Congratulations!
  16. Best of Luck Doug. We will be pulling for you! Sitting in the campground in Ensenada. And they have interweb! Pre-running this week. Tomorrow I get to ride the parts down by the beach, should be nice! Tuesday out to the east to pre-run my section.
  17. We are off to Mesquite this AM, Captcham and me, Heading out to Toroweap Friday. Hold good thoughts for dry roads. Follow us on my SPOT page https://share.findme...BZk953t2hSX4aiA We have a bunch of tracks extending to Escalante and Point Sublime, but road conditions will determine our route. I can arrange a distress call from the Outback if anyone wants an excuse to get out of town. See you all later.
  18. End of the line, Kanab, Utah Developed a countershaft oil leak we couldn't fix and that shortened to trip. We will need to go back to see Smokey Mountain and the Navajo Trail.
  19. Beezzz, This is what I used for the trip. Stable and didn't loosen at attachment points. ( Stock KTM rack ) Just add Coyote bag and bedroll in drybag. Pretty clear my attachment points are unusual, as subframe is the fuel cell. The acrylic plate works fine if you don't need to carry fuel. Again, mine just bolted through the stock handles with longer bolts. The Captn has a tail bag attached with the help of a plate under the fender and inside the bag. That plus Wolfman side and duffel bags, dry bags all held together with bungie net. He didn't lose anything that I am aware.
  20. ( twisty back roads around Montery ) will keep the doctor away. You wouldn't want to keep The Doctor away from Laguna Seca!
  21. Don, Houston's was great! On the road you are lucky to get one good meal a day. Sausage Skillet Breakfast, mmm. Hashbrown, home made sausage and bisquits, two eggs over easy finished with gravy. Thanks for the recommend. The "experienced" server wore a holster for napkins and straws. Western decor, +++. Dave
  22. We passed the Pink Buss coming out as we rode in. Luckily the tourist didn't camp. Good news is we had no company out on the BLM land east of Kanab. Unless you count coyotes and cows. Could be an answer to the issue in that. The World Class View spots will have traffic, just visit the World Class -1 locations and enjoy solitude. Don, I take your point about large groups. That group of 13 motos we leap frogged was creating chaos. Tough to protect what you are seeking when we have such easy access.
  23. The cost of fuel will Not be going down anytime soon. We hit Lost Wages 4:00PM Sunday. I though OMG, the traffic! Only slowdown was the Agriculture Inspection. The point being, the cost of fuel will keep many away. We were on the Second Mesa, Hopi Nation this spring. The guy running the Craft Store, " I never thought I would say I miss the White Man." My wife and I were the first customers he had had All Week! An alternate view; the more people who know that wild places exist, the more there are to protect them. Nothing to see, move along!
  24. http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?CityName=Kanab&state=UT&site=SLC&textField1=37.0475&textField2=-112.526&e=1 Deb, If you can manage, arrive on a weekday to snag a campsite. There are only about ten sites, Three accessible to SUV's, then down a rocky step to the good sites. You can camp north in the NF, but that is 45 minutes and 1000-1500ft. The place filled on the Friday we were on site. We arrived about 4:00PM. Funny Story: About sundown, we are hangin' with the ADV group of 6 two camps over. I had been up on the rocks just before and saw a wild crew approaching in a Clapped Out Stick shift import truck, two door Loaded with kids, Mom, bouncing left, right, up, down, near to being tossed out of the bed. Here they come, dragging parts down the rock step, driven by a 20 something kid complere with leaking header. Total Hoot! We saluted and clapped. We were giggly on Green Beer, what did we know.
