yeah, its a crapshot. The last helmet I bought online from motorcycle superstore and had to send it back. With them it only costs $5. Second try was perfect.

Hey, I'll help ya out.......I thought you & Mad Dog did a great job with the big beasts in the dunes out near the dump (same for Strega and Tracy on their 600+ cc rigs)...... Meanwhile, me and Bags were smiling ear to ear on our "Less is More" rigs :coolio:/> :smile_anim:/> Yeah I'll chime in! Paul was hauling the mail on the 990, even passed me at one point. I toyed with taking him back a few times but the big machine takes up a good chunk of the trail and didnt want to get hockey checked over the side. Fun stuff. Great pace, perfect conditions and lots of laughs!

I was there over Christmas. It was maybe 5 miles short of Gonzaga. During THAT trip I was able to get gas at both Puertocitos and Gonzaga. DD There are plenty of places where you can jump off the highway and get on the old dirt road if you want.

lots of good options out there. I went with the trekker because a $500 helmet purchase would directly affect my sleeping arrangement at home. If I had a complaint about the less expensive helmet, which I've found to be pretty consistant with other ones I've had, is with the quality of the padding.
