Chinese ADV model (with KTM power)
robertaccio replied to tntmo's topic in Info About Motorcycle Brands & Models
Stefan Pierer is a huge EU industrialist, doing biz with other entities is fine, but I don't see him ever selling majority shares in any of the Pierer Mobility/Industrie companies. (this is my opinion). -
Chinese ADV model (with KTM power)
robertaccio replied to tntmo's topic in Info About Motorcycle Brands & Models
"You've seen them. They are labeled as KTM. CFMOTO owns 51% of KTM ." Cite source, this appears to be fake news. the only KTM brand owned by Chinese investors is the KTM bicycle brand. -
about 96% complete another final assy mockup, WHT Gio Sala number 101, more electric work, proper hardware, chain and some other little jobs. Very close to the start up.

Glad to see support of the local AMA D(38). Happy to see a safe ride. Not my cup of tea at all , but good on ya!! My mantra "Participate don't Spectate."

You guys need to write an adventure novel!! your descriptive writing is brilliant. BTW just do a national Hare and hound or 2 , especially round 1 DMC or the final 100MC event , there are 50 desert HA hills that are harder and 10 x longer down and up in those events. If you want to challenge yourself. Of note the local National H&H that we sometimes get out in our local dez had/has some doozies in it as well. Keep up the good work and stay safe!! And keep on writing about these exploits!!! -
Engine is all buttoned up...but will open clutch cover for inspection and dump gearbox oil for Redline 80W Synthetic. Needs Evans non-aqueous coolant fill up (bullet proof). Needs a finish job on the Head and Tail light connections. Graphics are all in place with exception of 1997 World Enduro RED number plate back grounds and some homage to Farioli KTM Race bikes of the era. Ignition notes after a full clean up of the system she makes good spark , even with the cracked OEM Kokusan CDI unit, but since I payed for an all new unit the new one is installed. Photo shows the old unit with fork leg impact damage. Carb went on easy and is jetted per FMF spec. new vent hose kit installed. She is very close now, best news is, we have good compression and spark!! we just need fuel, Motorex at Euro style 2% Miscela (50:1) . Need a few more hoses as well, fuel line and tank vent hose. I have on the shelf new rear Shinko 216MX FIM 140/80-18 and an almost new Michelin Enduro Medium FIM 90/90-21 tire and some perfect used Mousses and pieces if required ready to install. Chain appears good and I will clean and reinstall it. Debut will be soon, most likely at local trail zone. Before I reinstalled the rear linkage I fully lubed it with Maxima grease, so that's dialed, just need a little exterior brushing on the links to clean them up from old dirt and oil stains

The long term mantra of the Los Ancianos Tecate Enduro "Larga y Dura" -
Prepped and reinstalled the carburetor. Pulled of the flywheel and media blasted it, pulled the stator plate and wire harness, cleaned up entire zone, reinstalled stator plate with new hardware, plugged in harness with dielectric grease, sealed rubber feed through gasket with 1211 three bond, reinstalled flywheel and put on the cover with a new gasket.....done as far as I can go in the ignition side of the crankshaft. Have not checked spark will do later, I have a new CDI unit and a new/used coil to throw on, if needed. Carbby is back on nicely and prepped with a new vent tube kit OEM Keihin style pink clear tube type. New rear brake reservoir to master cylinder hose installed just need to check the route, on this bike the reservoir is separate in the LHS and of course the master cylinder is on the RHS.

so if I was going for a "small" DS machine from the Tuscan brand it would be the 430RR-S, although there was not a S model to ride the I really gelled with the 430 engine for casual to fast pace trails. As for my still very into race mode riding, the 350RR-Race Edition was my #1 favorite bike of the day. It is like a 300 2 stroke with 2 additional strokes.......so easy to go fast on and on the cam she rips big time just like a 300 2T on the pipe. #2 is the 300RR-Race Edition #3 the 430RR (which I based my thoughts about the 430 formula for a DS model) I really did come to ride 4T bikes again and see how they feel when pushed. so for me still as a old kid that wants to still rip and race XC/Enduro single track in the 4 stroke realm, the Italian brand the 350RR-Race Edition would be my choice, I also love the French Sherco 300SEF-R Factory version and would love to ride a RedMoto Honda 300 as well as a built to 300 YZ250F for the Japanese brands. For the time being my formula will remain the 300 2 stroke, mine is so well built to my personal spec now. -
Any of you SDAR inmates participating? C&D Cycle sponsored Beta Motor US demo. Just curious, I will be there, hit me up if you see me. FXR BLU offroad gear with black gloves, maybe black vest or full Husqvarna Gotland WP enduro jacket if super cool temps, WHT Airoh helmet. I feel the need to ride more Italian bikes.... I ride my Malaguti Yesterday (retro) scooter (Bologna) every day and my Italian Husky TE610 (Varese) sometimes.....

my list is ride em , the entire 2 stroke range 125-300 and the 350 and 390 4 strokes not interested in 450-480 4 strokes. -
bike details MY model year/ altitude/ what you mix / plug type / pipe/silencer/reeds. motor somewhat fresh or worn out..... so many folks chase jets on worn out engines got to have a good solid baseline. I have safe and bullet proof set up tips. Also suspension? wheels, mousses? Carb jet block oring/sealring replaced?
-
BTW SA born Neville Bradshaw is a beast on any bike. But he shines on big 2 strokes and vintage 2 strokes.
-
YZ250 the do all machine 99% of riders need nothing more to kick their arse in the name of power. I've recently built up 2 offroad steel framers (early 2000s models). 18in rear wheel, FMF Gnarly with appropriate silencer (TC-2 or PC), Steahly FWW mid weight, stock gearing remains add some handguards , proper carb spec, V Force 3 reeds (or 4 if its a new one). Suspension for off road and good to go. Just such a great package. The new YZ250X is an absolute beauty that for 99% needs zero!!!! maybe just some springs for weight of rider match..
-
also the alloy ones are super loud. all the top world enduro offroad guys use plastic ones now, AXP etc.
-
BTW "Moose Racing" (Parts Unlimited) has replacement skid plate clamps in the catalog , all 4 are those, the ebay plate had none.
-
In addition some mud rider folks use closed cell foam to fill the space between the engine case and plate to avoid mud build up (extra weight)
-
many great ideas and choices , another friend always uses cut pieces of inner tubes another good method. of course this is for the metal plate installations. My 21 uses a HD plastic plate, I dont feel the need for insulation on those type , but I guess you could if you wanted.
-
Always add "insulation" "gasket" on metal skid plate to chassis mating faces. This time I used standard E tape in 4-5 layers. On my Husky 610 I used cut pieces of radiator hose.
-
100% true basically we just need to lighten up!!! Hey Padu lighten up dude. Let's not be so serious!! this is full on star wars shite!!!! just watch out for trees same as dirt bike riding in the sky!!
-
Like I said before tires and mousses standing by for installation.
-
Flywheel should be off by weeks end, so coils testing and electronics testing asap. I have a new ignition black box, but want to be sure all the other components are in good order.

We can talk when the time comes after completion and testing (some fun rides)
