was out at McCain 2 weeks ago,, Robert's son had an 08 450 Beta (no plate comp version) out with a couple of his friends,, I had seen Betas with Tim Pilg up at Glen Helen at an event but this time I got a real good look up close...very very nice machinery, those cottage shops in Italy produce some real artisan bikes. The RFS motor is a great platform and with the Beta chassis and all the quality bits that make up the bike it is super nice. RN

the heat slagged me, 14th of 31,,,no go on B loop,, quit(hate that word) after doing very well throughout most of C Loop,,, dizzy and nausea was kicking me hard,,, more liquids just didn't seem to help. @95deg and dry dry dry,, should have been better prepared with moose sahara gear and light weight chest protector (I have both),, just kept overheating. Well midpack finish,,, has to be ok!! see ya all on the trail, R

I think the organizers have it good because the first loop is the 40 mile C loop of dez single track ,,,this will give the big dogs plenty of side of trail space to get around us. I think for the start of the B loop we will start on our minutes again so it will happen all over again, hopefully no issues (with us slugs) as the this is the determining race for the Nat championship

just got the start list,,,, all the pros are are on consecutive minutes and all are behind me and most of the amatuers............ Lafferty is min 21 I am min 19,, the rest of the pros all follow minute by minute after lafferty.....this should be great fun,,,hopfully (for sure) the pros will all will pass on the first 40 mile loop.

I liked the Africa twin club guys on their "older" Hondas. that new TM450 is bad--arse,,, i have ridden an ISDE pro's 125E TM 2 smoker it was quite the sick machine,,,,for mortals it was a difficult ride. I wonder how the 450 is? the chassis is a full perimeter Al unit (like CRF) very sexy beasts those TMs except when they used to be hot pink!!!! That was a style reach even for Italians.

AC10s are what came stock on my TE450. I got about 900 miles out of the rear tire, but I didn't really like the tread and compound. I feel that the tires were formulated for forest loam conditions, not hard, rocky, sandy stuff that we have around here to ride on. The carcasses were particularly harsh in rocks. just put an AC10 on the TXC450,, have one ride,,edge is all ready showing wear... I installed an M12 F and AC10 R per info provided by Alan Randt from KTM/ Enduro engineering for the up coming dez enduro in Az. I like the tire and its DOT but I don't have enough time with it,,,I did all the normal loops at McCain plus some special loops and a bunch of rocks,,,it seems like it will not last too long

No Tecate HS or Enduro is the word on the street. One of the best local SoCal GNCC/ east coat style enduro type race looks to be a no go..for this season..bummer,, they have skipped years in the past so hopfully it will return.
