    motoGP

+1 thanks Strega, that is one of the reasons for the leg out in MX/offroad as well, weight transfer, counterbalance, stability.

the dome of death,,,,rode that thing from both directions at different times, on the one ride i ran out of gas about 3/4 up in a really silly steep section of switch backs, got fuel from my ride bud made up and over but ran out again near the lunch and got towed in. not fun being the only husky and getting towed in to that hard crowd.always adventures always good memories. Rode up that beast from the slope side on another ride on a 3 man ride that slope is scary steep. that some good technical riding up there.

    SUMO is nuts.

thanks for the update, Trachy was there, musta been quite the speed fest!! How were the Karts??
  9. ready to do more with the TE610. Anyone going local (off the 8) somewhere?
  10. ????? tried clearing the big girl out, did one small downhill bump start try, and gave up and towed er in.(it was hot in the open. Probably should have tried for a tow start. At that time for the bike tow and even starting the Husky was working well, but then she kept on dying as you guys saw as i cruised down the road. I had moments of happy and wtf all day long, with lots of mix screw and idle speed adjustments.
  11. robert I saw you driving down my street (cowles mnt blvd) last weekend with the honda 250 attached to the brux truck. I waved, but you had tunnel vision. You have friends in the neighborhood? brad spaugh Hey Brad,, man on a mission!!tunnel vision/race face ha!! That was a friends CRF250 that I was selling for him,he lives in your neighborhood over there, SDARs own Chief Gunner now is the proud owner.
  12. good stuff glad it can be repaired. still not 100% happy with the 610, got some good time on it, but it also died a bunch of times. ALthough she always restarted, Back into the carb I go.
  13. I went out last Sunday (and broke the front wheel on my TXT), Whoa!! how the heck did that happen?? loose spokes??? or was it your basic rim taco smash the rock type thing weather last week was only high 80s and was breezy,, great stuff for this time!! but this year offshore fishing sucks!!!!!last year it was dorado and albacore central!!
  14. I love those gentlemen they are like clockwork on saturday. Al can barely even walk but he gets on the Montesa and tools around, and Colby is always so enthusiastic and is a real adventure guy, he likes aerial toys too. I just need to ride the big husky around (easy like if that is possible for me)and learn the start technique with heat and altitude.
  15. sat mcCain valley in the day use zone, brux truck with older 610 husky. will park in the Colby and Al zone.

Husky TE250 - Need to lower it

the "old" engine based machines are virtually bullet proof (up through 09) the weight and chassis is a little less "sharp" than the 10-11 x-lite models. The 250 and the 310 version of this bike (09) for DS and trail riding is very satisfactory and is an easy bike to ride, for your type riding the 09 310 is a wise choice, if the price is right you will not go wrong with this machine. The 310 version of the "old" motor is very nice package and is probably a better overall package with the xtra cc. The 10 and 11s basically use a 125 chassis with the all new 250cc and now for 11 all new 310 (lightest OEM 250cc 4 stroke engine made), it is a fully capable (with minor mods) competition/racing machine. It is a fantastic machine, but I am speaking from a different place, the 2 I have ridden were both TXC models and I dont think i ever rode them below the high rpm level (in the speed mode). The new 250 family is amazing and you have the benefit of owning the latest/newest model with the latest evolution engine, but I am sure it costs a bit more as well. And truthfully it rewards a more racy ride stance, see below Here is Adam's expert level journalist 2010 x-lite TE250 test part 1

Husky TE250 - Need to lower it

did i mention that this machine TE250 X-Lite,,,,,,,is the most awesome (DS legal) trail bike made at the moment. there is none better out of the box. great machine choice.

Husky TE250 - Need to lower it

kelly good one with racetech as well as the others mentioned. Also good is that racetech also reccommends a company that specilizes in seat recontours. see further down in the tech article.

Husky TE250 - Need to lower it

Take a look at the OEM selle delle valle seat,, there may not be much room to remove material, it is a minimalist seat construction. I don't know why there have never been options in the moto world for options, "I would like my TE250 with the 2" lower suspension set up." Best of luck with your machine, its a real beauty.

Husky TE250 - Need to lower it

Dirt diva, The correct and best way to lower your bike is through a qualified suspension tech shop like this one. The downside is the that suspension removal is in most cases needed and shipping costs are involved. the is from the shop of Les Tinius up north just as an FYI bit.Les is an expert with Sachs and Marzocchi equipment. Read below for some info about lowering, its a very good option and with our long travel machines there is alot of travel to play with. http://www.lt-racing.com/html/suspensisuspension_topics.html also FC does this service http://www.factoryconnection.com/index2.htm and I know that PC has changed things (new local name/arrangement) but from what I've heard they also do lowering and the shop is local http://www.precisionconceptsracing.com/ R PS the lower mod is fully reversable as well. PPS your bike is the best of the best I've ridden 2 TXC250 versions it its lite and amazing, try to do the least impact on the chassis set up it is a very well balanced machine that has amazing handling (like a 125 2T)

    Tecate Fund Raiser

http://s42.photobucket.com/albums/e338/robertaccio/Mexico/2007%20HD%2031MAR07/ old post but for interest here are some photos from this adventure ride,,,our crew missed the lunch/fuel stop trail cutoff, got low on fuel, no water, no food and one flat. we bailed to nearest "town" el testarazo and got replenished, ended up riding @ 95miles that day and got back to the start/finish at dusk. some were not happy, i see it as a teamwork adventure. no injury no foul. my 06 TE450 was a DS legal machine.
  22. http://www.sdka.com/ "SDKA's next race is Sunday, Aug 15th on the Qualcomm stadium West lot. We will be running the same course as the July event. This is a combined event with PAK as well as Supermotos. It will be an awesome day of racing. Click here for the track map. The race day schedule is posted below." these guys are the link. they are the organizers. they allow sumo as part of their program (xtra $ and more participation for them). You SM guys can verify with them. enjoy the ride
  23. Everyone from this site should be there to support this event. Its for a good cause. But there is a real alterior motive as well,,,ITS JUST PLAIN FUN!!! And as far as a track goes, Cahuilla MX is really one of the best tracks (IMHO the best) in SoCal Shoot, we could do all DS group/parade ride on the track!!! The track layout is DS/enduro bike friendly (for plush offroad suspension) As a show of support. There will lots of industry folks there and some really fast Pros (both Men and Women) to watch and follow (yeah sure).
