  1. the vehicle that was flat bedded was a late model KTM450(a very nice one), it was a guy who had done the tecate enduro (he had his minute number plate still on) I spoke with him and his tractor racing(had his TR Tee shirt) bud first thing in the morning. I also got a ticket and it was against a bike that is technically not owned by me,,,,,they could have taken away the blue bike(for lack of any paperwork). I (always)have all the paperwork and all the stickers up to date, with a "permission" (sponsor) letter. the ticket is a fixit ticket and the little blue machine is currently in the system and in full compliance she just doesnt have the stickie attached and is not under my name. Just for less hassle you guys were lucky to be out on the trail and not need to deal with that. odd was the fact that on this day everyone was really minding their manners. most times there are groups of pit racers and donut show offs that race back and forth in front of the parked vehicles and onto the road etc etc. those are the days I wish those BLM guys would hack on the goons. Sun was a fairly goon free day.
  2. PS after you guys left I tried to pick up your trail, but ended up going solo for a whole back 40 loop, thinking I would see someone, saw no-one and after pushing fast going out, backed down some for the ride back towards the camp zone, you guys were all still out. Was a good day.

  4. Stopped by GP to pick up a rear disc for my TXC450. Noticed a huge number KTMs on the floor, GP has picked up an entire stock of non-current KTMs on the floor. Even a brand new 2005 450SXF and couple of 450SM bikes from 06 all new from 08-11, and a bunch more models (including a couple of Husqvarnas) as well. They are priced to sell and the 09 250XC-W was grabbing my arm when I looked at it........nah not yet.

    KTM350SX

truth is the thing was designed with lots of input from Everts (10x FIM MX champ) and is mostly successful when ridden like a F1 car by this little Sicilian guy.
  14. Des McDonald Baja Memorial Ride Mar 19 Los Ancianos Motorcycle Club has scheduled a Memorial Ride in honor of Des McDonald, who tragically passed away this past December while racing in the Tecate Enduro in Baja California. We plan on departing from Rancho Santa Veronica at 9 AM on Sat March 19. The ride will be led by members of Los Ancianos Motorcycle Club, who will take the group over to the private Rancho Neji, where the Enduro was held. The group will ride the first loop of the Enduro, which is about 30 miles of single track. We will stop at the site of Des accident, place a memorial and have a brief service. We will then continue on the same track Des intended to race that day. We have the ranch owners special permission to use the Enduro course. Once exiting the private property, we will stop and place a second memorial in a public place on Compadre Trail. This should be close to Noon, and we plan on serving lunch for all ride participants. After lunch, riders are free to continue riding in the awesome terrain of the Sierra Juarez mountains, socialize, or return to Rancho Santa Veronica. The Enduro course is fenced private property. After the ride, it will not be open to future riding. Please do not return and attempt to trespass. The Enduro single track was designed by Los Ancianos and meant for dirt bikes. Quads, UTVs, or street bikes will not be able to negotiate the course. If you would like to stay at Rancho Santa Veronica Friday night, please call Joan Ellis at 619-423-3830 for reservations. Saturday night at RSV is booked full. Sorry. Please come out and enjoy a day of riding in the very same Baja terrain Des loved and the people who he enjoyed sharing it with. Kindly RSVP with names for us to plan asap. Email to bajaseve@hotmail.com and final details will be provided. Muchas Gracias, Seve
