afaik our group is a whole 3 people so far so 4 isn't a crowd Ill add your name to my post about my group unless you werent talking to me -
Dude I love gift cards, just ask for amazon. You can buy anything through them now. I still have a pair of old Thor boots in my garage think they are size 11

I was in the garage working on my bike and didn't even notice it in Oceanside. Wife emailed me and that was the first I knew of it

She actually wasn't that funny. I left it on picture every 60 seconds and we were gone for like 2 hours. 5 minutes after we left she ate some food, crawled into her bed and went to sleep until we got home. I did see someone mount the camera to their dogs collar though and then throw some sticks for it. Pretty funny but also very jerky

Mason Valley Truck Trail - Let's get it open!

Sounds like great progress at least. Thank you for your efforts. -
Awesome. I just got mine and started playing with it yesterday. I really like the timelapse feature. I left it on in the kitchen when we went to dinner to see what the dog did while we were away The chest mount is much better quality and engineered than I thought it would be, its made out of a stretchy webbing so it stays snug and the plate on the front the camera mounts to is actually metal with a quick release I am having trouble getting video up to youtube in a decent quality or well a quality worth shooting HD. Youtube says it supports 1080p so I uploaded a full 2gig file that was supposed to be 1080p but the HD doesnt seem up to what I expect of that Trying to see which I like better in general the helmet mount to the side or the chest mount. Chest seems to give off a better sense of speed, but gets more wind noise, especially when you stand the volume changes dramatically. Also I think my windscreen is tricking the light settings on the camera a little bit shooting through it Helmet shows more wide angle but it less stable because apparently my head bobbles more than I thought

Cool. That's good to know. I think if I got a new helmet I would want one of the dual sport type
-
I got a shopvac and socks and a new super orange safety vest to replace my home depot one. I did manage to get the GoPro Hero HD camera as a combined birthday and xmas present from a few people so I am trying to figure it out. and when it comes to rants, I hate it when people don't cash checks. We paid my mom back after selling the truck and shes been sitting on a 4,000 dollar check for over a month.

That’s not a good enough discriminator…….that statement could apply to most anyone! Well you and Wayne were quite a bit faster than the rest of us (not Strega probably) in our little group last time. Mike you are more than welcome in our little group if you don't find something else more your speed -

DMV Motorcycle License Physical tests & CHP Saftey Course
Jaynen replied to Beezzz's topic in Equipment & Technical Forum
last I checked they were all round... what a doof... uh... the parts guy, not you Swing by Pauls house, pick up the TW200, go pass the test with flying colors, get a Mc Donalds gift certificate on the way home, and give it to him... no worries about DOT, putting your foot down, or anything... a TW200 will stand up on it's own if you drop the air pressure in the tires a bit I rode a tw200 in my MSF class worked great it was their bike for people who were taller which I guess means arent midgets -

Anyone had any good luck with any businesses in particular or know what it might roughly cost to put a trailer hitch on my Jetta?

DMV Motorcycle License Physical tests & CHP Saftey Course

Yup took MSF course also and was well worth the investment. -
I have heard a few times on Thumpertalk that the dirt roads are often the most dangerous part of a ride because people tend to go faster and hit blind corners dirt track style etc. That being said its also one of the biggest areas I feel like I am having confidence issues because I am worried about washing out the front tire at higher speeds where its going to hurt a lot more. Does anyone have any basic pointers or advice to improving on this? I figure I will get a lot of time to practice out at Primm with some roads and mileage. It was actually quite educational for me when I did the memorial day ride and the other palomar ride on street tires because I became a lot more comfortable with the rear tire sliding around. Thanks

ya I know I was looking at getting the camping gear I need to camp off the bike so I could really pyro it day trips kind of suck if you have to do a 100+ miles to get there and get home maybe its good practice tho

http://www.topgearleather.com/c=BGgNaUHLQ5...rs.racingsuits/ These guys make pretty cheap ones too I think the hard part is finding used stuff in the right sizes but if you arent picky on color its a good way to go. My winter riding suit jacket/bibbed pants/boots/gloves all came from one guy for 100 bucks too

All these top name Snell approved helmets all come from the same Chinese manufacturer: Troy Lee. Fox, Bell. There are probably more too. They don't buy and rebrand helmets. They design their helmets, then go to the manufacturer and have the manufacturer build the helmet to their specification. Sure but I don't think some of these other companies that primarily sell clothes for example are doing a lot of R&D in developing helmets as opposed to them finding some pretty graphics to slap their label on and just buy them from said manufacturer. Fox and Bell have been making helmets longer than exporting to China was an option, I think Arai even makes a big deal about their helmets being handbuilt and maybe even in the US

Those are great (wishes his bike was yellow and black yamaha)

Sold it to get rid of the car payment and get something more economical for commuting to work. Wasn't worth the car payment to have it sit there for the few times I need a truck as I don't ride as often as I would like (on the dirt) but now that I did that it's annoying when I DO want to go riding and I have to work that out. Wife and I are on the Dave Ramsey plan and will have her car paid off next month and trying to knockout as much financial stuff as we can pre-baby in June. I am debating finding some small beater truck or going the trailer hitch route on the Jetta diesel I picked up for commuting

I wanna say its like 600 bucks but it would be great knowledge Jay, you just need to get out on a track. Like at Christi's place, A track is a really good place to learn and try different technical stuff, you take a corner with weight out the outside foot once then the next time on the same corner a little less and you feel and see the difference. That's what I like about track riding, you want to learn to slide? don't take the berm, go inside and let it hang out. Yeah I am really bummed I didnt go out to Christi's when she had the invitation open. I am truckless now and bailed being worried about the weather since I didn't want to risk the ride up the 15 in the rain

Awesome! we'll have to do a SDAR sumo ride at some point. That's nice that you have street leathers as well. My two street setups are both textile. Did you truck the bike up to your folks or ride from SD? Not sure where the rockstore photo was of my bike I forgot the date when we went riding. (found it) You can see my rotopax mount on the side for extra gas and my saddlebags. They don't look racy but its too nice to have some storage and not have to wear a backpack

Going up to LA for new years eve planning on riding the "Snake" on Mullholland and PCH maybe some angeles crest area but I prefer the tighter areas high speed sweepers arent the fun part about supermoto. The fun thing is you can still do gravel roads fairly good depending on your tires with the bike. If those are the supermoto compound avon distanzas they are supposed to be pretty awesome. Pala Raceway is going to open a supermoto/gokart track at some point
