  1. I've got one person in again, going to Corral at 6, will try to swing by and find you, Brad.
  2. My buddy bailed on me for tomorrow, looking for someone to ride with maybe 6 am to noon. Green sticker only, but I'm up for almost anything.

Why did you stop racing District 38 races?

Goofy Footer, great post, thanks. I agree with everything you said. I had started that post you were talking about with a joke about results trying to keep all that from happening, but obviously it didn't work. I don't see any of that at the races, though, so don't think that is how everyone acts all the time. I go into the races with the same attitude as you, I'm not going to win any of them, so I just go out to ride hard and have fun. As for the scoring,it baffles me why anybody wouldn't want it, except maybe afraid of the change or the transition. I want to try out that new track, too. Post up next time you want to head out there.

Hey Brad, I agree with you, the National H&H 2 years ago was great, would like more of those. I didn't see your post until now. I didn't realize there were areas that didn't need to be surveyed either. Maybe the people that are laying out the courses need to be made aware of it? Maybe we need to survey some trails leading into there? I would like to find out more about that. Kkug, the only land issues I am aware of is that someone declared the whole area as an archeological site, and now every race course needs to be surveyed to be sure that we arent running over any artifacts (even though you can ride anywhere you want if it's not a sanctioned event). We aw working on opening up some new ones. Thanks again everyone, keep the ideas coming.

Thanks for the replies, everyone. Adding some technical terrain is one of the things on our list, we have some people working on GPSing new routes for courses right now, and we have the money to pay for the necessary surveys, so I am hoping this is one area that will improve in the near future. I don't think bringing Enduros back is on the list, but I will be sure to suggest it. As far as the dust goes, would it make any difference if they had staggered starts instead of the mass starts? I'm not sure if there is much else that can be done about the dust on the course. We have had water trucks for the bomb run, but it doesn't do any good on the rest of the course. Any other suggestions?
  6. "If you're going to take the lead. you may as well do it in style. Just give him a little goodie bag on the way by and say thank you very much" That quote was almost as good as the pass. Nice video , Crusty, thanks.
  7. So you're saying Honda is the best bike because the last time they won was because a guy that dominated everyone on any bike he rode won a championship on one? I'm confused.
  8. YES! Some smack talking about bike brands! Come on Crusty, you gotta have something to come back with. These are some of my favorite threads. Now we need a Ford vs. Chevy vs. Dodge debate or a PC vs. Mac argument. I always like the ones on TT about how the center of gravity changes when standing vs. sitting too. So keep it up guys!
  9. Ive got a hall pass for a half day ride tomorrow, would like to beat the heat and go early, and be done by noon. Thinking about meeting at pine valley and riding from there, but open to about anything. Ok with noob to intermediate, but I dont know the area well enough to promise that I won't lead you down some crazy, f'ed up trail.
  10. Just got a text that my friend can't make it, so I am bailing out on my own ride. Sorry KLXBen if I screwed up your plans.
  11. I guess I should have mentioned I'm not plated. Talked my buddy into taking his quad to pine valley with me, we should be there around 7 if you want to come with us.
  12. My quad-tard buddy and I are going to take our offspring out to the RPMX track tomorrow if anyone wants to join us. Gray Ford dually and Attitude TH. Hoping to be there by 10. Never been there before, so I dont have any idea where we will be parked.

    RPMX tomorrow

It was a little breezy out there, but not terrible. MX tracks were fun and in decent shape. Beginner track was perfect for the little ones. I guess the quad track hadn't been groomed recently and had some big rain ruts and such but still rideable. All in all a good day.

    RPMX tomorrow

Hmmm. When I looked at the weather yesterday the wind was supposed to be dying down early. Is the other track up there ( elevation?) in a more protected spot? Any others that allow quad and aren't crowded that would be better?
  15. Any update on this? I am also wondering if there has been any talk of using this money to establish new OHV areas within the state parks. Anza Borrego SP covers a vast area, there must be some land they could open up and maintain with that money and augment their budget at the same time. It seems like a win-win that way. This could be a great opportunity to actually add some accessible riding land instead of losing it all the time.

Gary Baily EATS CROW GO #7

I wonder what crow tastes like. Maybe it's delicious. Some people like snails and monkey brains, can't be any worse than that.

    Sunday 5-20

District 38 is having a GP at Pala Sunday. Amateur track plus an off-road section. May be crowded on the other tracks. Or you could sign up and beat me in the vet / senior / sup senior race at 10:00.
  19. That's awful! He didn't offer his hot sister to keep you company when you got lonely? It really has gone downhill in Mexico. Glad you got the help you needed.
  20. I thought it had turned into a civil discussion about why the smoke was let out of your fuse block/ starter relay until you turned into a smart ass. Watch out for those non-electric amps when you go to fix it.
  21. Sorry, Kris, that was a response to schwinn, not you.
  22. It is most definately in there somewhere. I can look for the exact section if you don't believe me. What I am saying is they don't consider anything less than 50v has the ability to kill someone. I'm pretty sure 50,000v has the ability to kill someone, a stun gun has circuitry to keep the amperage low enough to hopefully prevent it. Electrician, huh? Amps kill, not electricity? What non-electric amps are there? Maybe they didn't teach me that in my 3 year apprenticeship.
  23. I'm not sure if we want to turn this into an electrical theory discussion, but voltage is the "pressure", amperage is the measurement of flow. If there is no difference in voltage between 2 points, no amperage will flow. However, if there is no resistance in a circuit (like jumper cables between 2 batteries) a lot of current will flow with just a small amount of difference between the 2. Amperage is what kills, but it takes a pretty large amount of voltage to create enough to kill (OSHA considers anything less than 50 v non-lethal voltage) and AC is considerably more dangerous than DC at any voltage so 12v DC is very unlikely to flow enough amperage through your body for you to even feel it.
  24. How about this theory; Since bike was running, as the truck engine is cranking the truck's battery voltage drops into the 10.5-11v range (not unusual during cranking) and the bike's charging system tries to compensate and overloads the fuse block. Doesn't explain why the fuse didn't blow, but I do know that 'lectricity doesn't always do what it's supposed to. Maybe a connection that wasn't so great and got hot before 30 amps was flowing? All just speculation.
  25. I'm going to try out Barona tomorrow after work if anyone wants to join me. Should be there by 3:45, hoping they let me ride a little longer than the 5:00 closing time it says on their website.
