any recommendation on a good dual sport tires? i use D606 now, but i swear when i hit the pavement it seems to just wear off. i go like 20 miles and i noticed the wear. any knobbies that last longer from other experience? or is this just the price of dual sporting? or perhaps i can switch to a less dirt aggresive tires like a 80/20 ?

I went riding out on memorial weekend when it hit about 125 degree. i thought i was going to die and my bike was working. i cant even imagine if i had to walk. anyway safe to say i am never going to try that again. waiting till it cools off to ride again.

wow i am suprise you saw it at all. all american ktm said they only getting 2 this year and there are 6 people on the waiting list. maybe they are just pulling my leg, maybe i will swing down to ncy and take a look.

hmm all this talk about the great 450x..Craig please keep in mind this is a Dual sport site, and last i check i cant get a 450x from the dealer plated, and i am not planning on trying to bend the law to get it plated. so until Honda plate a 450x, then i will start reading on what they win and be amaze at what a great bike it is, i might even get one, but until then i ride dual sport and ktm make award wining dual sport bikes.

yeah i just looked at the weather forecast and looks like rain tomorrow anyway. i am not sure i can go sunday but have fun!

hey brad. I am in the same boat, i had a xr650r and traded for a DRZ for what i needed. for the drz400 i just want something i can ride the crap out off it on or off the street, but if i had the cash after my spending on the 530 i would of got a 690 ). DRZ was just a cheaper solution to my problem. main things i like about drz over the XR is the electric start, and the 4000 mile oil change. But if your decision is between the R or the L, get the R. i really like the smooth, tractable power of the R engine, plus it like 50lb less. I changed the oil about every 1000miles and clean the air filter and never had a single problem in 4000 miles, but then again neither has Luke with his L. a riding buddy has a R that has close to 20000 miles without a single problem. i think they both reliable just one has new technology then the other. so again, to review my humble opinion: get the 690 so i can test ride it! joking do your research and pick what you like..late
