I still like the idea of breakfast in Ramona at 8 and ride at 9. I have an hour ride up to Ramona.

    Big Bike Ride Sunday 9/28

I would like to go on a ride out of Ramona, but I bet that I would only be able to ride for 2-3 hours. It's my first ride after tearing my rotator cuff. I tried to load a bike in the truck yesterday and couldn't get it in by self. But I could make it up to Ramona by 8 for breakfast, and ride for 2-3 hrs for there at 9:00. Is there a possible cut off at say 12:00?
  3. I've been here in San Diego all 56 of my years and, have never heard of an area known as "Aquatica" can any clue me in. Can't even lurk, if you have no idea of where.
  4. I was hopping to get out and ride now that it a little cooler, and since Bob was talking about a ride, and not at o'dark thirty. Is there a plan, all my big bikes have street tires, so dirt only where traction is not a concern. Is there still a ride out of this thread?

So Why Do You Own THAT Bike?

What he said except the break was from 1978 to 2007, I've now had 10 bikes in search of the perfect bike and after the last 7 years all I can say is, I haven't found it yet. But damned if I'm not still looking, maybe it's all about the hunt. I'm also fond of saying that they invented Baja for 525.

    June 23rd_ Corral- Early

I can get up that early, but I can't be anywhere at that hour unless the ride starts from my garage. I remember trying to find your old house at O'dark thirty and had you not, been out there waving the flashlight, I would have never have found you. And the 950 is the only bike that has real lights. Some how taking a nap after being out all night, to go out and ride, maybe thats how you got talked into the "Phantom Trail" ride. (great story though)
  7. Please list said vino, it must kill pain also.

    McCain Thursday 0900

I’m so bummed, I would have loved to have taken out the 690 to see if I finally have it dialed in. But I promised to have lunch with an associate. So nice to not have to meet at the tree at O’dark thirty, leaving at 5:30 to get there at 7:00 is just too hard anymore; the older I get the more I need the sleep. I hope there's another soon.
  9. I know this is "Little Bikes" ride but is the ride for little bikes or big bike friendly?

    Otay Mountain Sunday

I was really looking forward to this ride, get the 950 out and roll, then I went back and re-read the particulars, 7:30 at Pio Pico, thats a 5 am start from here. Thats too early a start for me. I think I'll sleep in till 7:00. Have a great ride, what weather we have. I'll be with the second seating headed out via Ramona, and maybe Black Canyon.
  11. Is this a ride that's going to be taken, anymore particulars, time, place, etc.?
  12. I was interested in this ride, but wouldn't have time to make the entire loop. If its ok I could leave the group when back to Santa Isabel?
  13. I really like the rust mods and the full race basket. I'm sure that they were uber competitive because of the range on one tank in the desert.
  14. I run the Bib Mousse on my 525 and love them. At my size I'm forced to run higher pressure than I would like, but with the Bib Mousse its like running the lower pressure with out the risk of flats, It doesn't stop me bending the rims but nothing does. I tried the tubeliss on my 690, only to find that they won't work. The rims are too big so they cant seal. Perfect seems to be elusive, just like the prefect bike. My personal search has lead me to the MotoZ tires with HD tubes, the stiffer casing allow me to lower the pressure some. I will still keep the Bib Mousse for Baja where I don't want to deal with flats ever, it also easier to keep the bike on dirt and off the pavement which is where I have found some draw backs. Too much highway and the Bib's heat up and can melt to ruin them, they also tend to start to ride like a flat when they get that hot. Expensive to replace after the ride. Multiple wheels set up for different types of rides is the Bomb. 17" supermotos for around town, DOT MotoZ's with HD tubes for club rides, and Desert IT's with Bib Mousse for Baja rides. Perfect set ups for every ride. Just my two cents,

    dirt riding?

You can actually go out after "Shark Week" ? I'l still need a few days.
  16. Wish I could have made a ride like that on my 50th, instead it was a two ride in Baja up the Meling Ranch and back. Now all you have to worry about is the new membership card in the mail and emails trying to get you to join the AARP. That really seemed like a slap in the face. But really do enjoy the ride and B-day.
  17. Looks like I missed a great ride, but I did get out for a short ride on the coast, only to have the water pump start to leak. When i checked the oil there was coolant mixed in. So I guess it was good, not to get so far from home. However I didn't know that Strega ran the rescue wagon, what was that number again? (1800 blackisacolor)

    Dual-Sport Saturday May 7th

I'd also like to get the 950 out for a run, is there anymore info other than 7am Mission Hills or south area.
  19. I wanted to make the ride this morning, but didn't reset the watch. maybe next time. Also kind of overcast here at the coast.

    Another Anza DQ ride

Mimi, just as casual observer, is there some reason that your rides either start or end with ice cream? Parking w/ ice cream etc? Inquiring minds want to know.

    Otay Mtn Saturday Jan 15

This a great time of year for this type of ride. I've never ridden in this area that I know of, but would like to join up, just to have a look see. Too much work and no play, I'll ride anywhere.
  22. Add one more big bike. Tomorrow 7:30.
  23. Stayed up to late to watch the opening ceremonies, and now its too late to load up. Have a great ride, the weather is with you. I'll have to see what pops up on Sunday. (I think this qualifies for a "Team Sally" bid) Just wondering, is the "team sally" squad leader going to lead "team sally" in the Desert Dash?
