No---not really. Dirt biking is truck/trailer your bike to the dirt-ride dirt-then truck/trailer it home. Adventure riding is ride it everywhere and usually includes camping from the bike. Basically-self sufficient. This is why there is Adventure models of motorcycles. Mike rode his 1200gs up Allesandro and Ron Spicer on his R100GS. That is what we are teaching at SD GS RIDERS at SDBMWMC----Big bikes can do it! I just love to ride . . . Street riding is great fun for me and dirt riding is great fun too. But when you combine the two, now that's a match made in heaven! That's why I love dualsporting so much. Well, we sure would not want to Adventure Ride at San Diego Adventure Riders while trying something new instead of the same old-"truck my bike to the same old place".

The Ghostriderz have been working on Cedar Creek 13S11. We have some positive dialogue with the Forest Dept. Here is the update. This section in the Cleveland National Forest has been closed since 02/06/09. The website states closed due to rain. The Ghostriderz explored this area last weekend and found the road to be in fine condition, even though there are closed gates on both sides. The Ghostriderz contacted Joan Friedlander and the Palomar Ranger District(760-788-0250). We had a conference call that also included Jeff. Jeff rides a 640 Adventure. In our discussion, it was decided that this road will be inspected in the next two weeks. This road is currently closed to everything except Mtn Bikes, hikers, and horses. They are open to the idea of opening this road up to motorcycles in the event it will not be open to vehicles, as motorcycles are not any wider than a horse. Joan said they could possibly cut the lower bar off of the horse gate to allow street legal motorcycles. It was discussed that after enough motorcycles traveled the road, it would then be more accessible to vehicles, possible opening the road completely at little expense to the forest dept. Joan is in favor of the premise of allowing the public to access public lands. She said that these Gates they put up, cost about $5000.00 dollars installed. While gates are needed, for less than a $1000.00 a grader could be hired to improve the road, thus saving $4000.00. I will be in contact with Joan in 2 weeks to get an update.
