  1. I mention SDAR to my friend Dave Stall at KUSI, he sent me this email.

Would love to do a segment on your motorcycle group, ould

Check with your group and pick a date in May, June etc. etc., either a

Wednesday-Friday-Saturday (Be careful with Saturday, you could get bumped by

KUSI Sales) Sunday (Most watched morning show).

    Dave...

If we do a Sunday show we would need to arrive by 7am and we would be done by 8am. So what about May 26th?? May 26th is now out due to holiday.Far enough out to plan? Kelly

OK looks like pushing for June 2nd Please chime in so we can nail it down.

  2. All- Does anybody know of any tool company that makes really light weight tool kits? I'm talking titanium and aluminum tools made specifically for motorcycle trail tool kits. bigeyed.png

Only thing I've found are these:

    http://www.motionpro.com/motorcycle/partno/08-0466/

Motion Pro's Pro-Light titanium wrench set. It's only 4 wrenches, and I can't find a complete aluminum or ti kit. Combining that with their aluminum tire irons would make for quite a bit of weight savings.

I have a Motion Pro account.

  3. I needed new chain and sprockets, with the o-ring chain I needed a chain press. These can range from $10 to $100, I wanted to try this $10 model as I may only use it a few times a year and its small enough to carry on the trail if needed.

It worked perfect, took about 3 min to get the link on with no issues.

For the money this tool is a winner.

    Tanks:

http://www.redfeathermotorsports.com/restoration.html (this was the guy who did my tank, I think it was $250 not $400, local in SD)

Redfeather is good, Frank the owner is also the Pres of CALVMX.

So I got home and plugged in the card and it has some nice video but no way to ID the person. So for now on before I ride with mine I will film a intro with my info on it in case I lose mine.

So I emailed the Drift folks with the serial number in case the unit was registered. Here is the reply.

    Hi Kelly,

So we did end up tracking down who the camera belongs to! It is actually one of our sponsored athletes who lost it in the surf. Thank you so much for contacting us. Would you be willing to ship it back to him, provided that we send you a prepaid shipping label? If so, what is your shipping address (so that we can put that on the label)? Also, because you were so nice and awesome, we'd really love to send you a free t-shirt and some stickers! What size would you like? (We are all out of smalls, but have medium-XXL and they do run a little small).

Again, thank you so much! That was really really kind of you!

Hope you're having a fantastic day!

    -Kaley

  6. What ever one of the two lifts you choose the wheel vice sucks. I have the HF lift and have had it for around 8 years, for the price Im very happy and it does the job. I did need to spend when I did around $80 for a new vice as you can see here, the small little one that came on it like the vices on the ones your looking at suck. Even with extra tie down support. When you have a lift you will use it alot.

Thanks for the heads up, I was wondering about that... Looking at HF website seems a number of people have bought http://www.harborfreight.com/motorcycle-stand-wheel-chock-97841.html to replace the stock chock. Where did you get yours? I don't see one like it on HF site.

I got the chock from Handy Lift

  8. I had an absolute hell of a time taking my old drz grip off. I eventually ground off the remaining grip and installed new ones. I think I overdid the superglue on my install so I just bought a Motion Pro replacement throttle tube for $10. Next time it will be easy!

Maniac told me a trick about using hairspray instead of glue. Goes on wet, dries sticky.

I believe CalNub mentioned using gas instead of glue too (if I recall correctly).

(Edit, I have the fcr carb so the tubes may be different?)

Yea,I looked at all the aftermarket sources for a OEM tube for the 20012 DRZs and none are available. So then like Charlie say's, he went to ECC to ask if they had something and all they sell is the OEM that has a waffle grip already glued on tight.

  9. Boy his OEM bars were done.

    DSCN6592_zpsb3c0cb12.jpg

    Off with them Charlie

    DSCN6593_zps3910c852.jpg

Score a nice bar from Pasta Pilot and some clamps from me and here we go.

    DSCN6596_zpsa98348e4.jpg

So only two issue, one when trying to upgrade the grips. The OEM throttle grip is somehow welded to the throttle tube??? That's why the old grip is still on the tube in above photo. Next we needed to relocate the key, easy.

New hand guard bracket for fat bar on order. Charlie it was good to spend the time with you and thanks for lunch.

  10. Hi, newbie noob here...tried to upload a simple picture in the required pixel/size and all I get is a tiny thumbnail after the post goes through. How are you upper level beginners getting those huge full screen shots to upload? Any suggestions are awesomely appreciated.

Photobucket, here is how I do it.
