    TAT on a Hodaka

Hodaka Club member Andrew Blackburn has started his ride to Hodaka Days that kicks off on June 27th. He is using a Spot unit so I e-mailed him to see if he is using the tracking, if so I asked for info to log on a follow. The bike itself, other than having the motor freshened, up, new tires and an MZB electronic ignition, will be stone stock. He also said he will post up on ADV. Hodaka Days should be a blast again and I wish I could share our club newsletter with you. We put together I believe is a very good newsletter, it comes email as a PDF. If you would like to check it out PM me your e-mail and I will send it. 60 pages. And again if any of you big bikes want to go for a great ride head for Hodaka Days. I will be.

    TAT on a Hodaka

Kelly, At the end of day three, the Toad rolls on. Day two was 222 miles that was 85% pavement. Rockwood to Bell Buckle, TN. Nice scenery and friendly people, but not that great of of a DS route. I had to wait out storms this morning. Severe thunderstorms and flood warnings. I finally got going at 12:30. Water covering the road everywhere for the first few hours. Had a better route today. Still, about 75% pavement. Route went through some state forests and preserves, some very nice riding. Route also went through Amish farm country. Passed many horse-drawn buggies, most people waved. Lots of wildlife- deer, turkeys, hawks, vultures. Saw a red fox crossing a forest road. Arrived in Adamsville, TN around 8:30 pm after 242 miles. Will be riding around the same distance tomorrow to Sardis, MS. I need to change the gear oil and service the air filter in the morning. 617 total miles so far. Here is the Spot URL for the ride (minus the first day and part of the second):Hodaka on the TAT
  8. Eagle Mike showed off his new shop in El Cajon on Saturday. About 20-25 showed up to swap and share stuff all KLR and Mike helping out with some good wrenching. I saw a frame bolt mod, valve adjust, new DoHickey installed and a few other things. AS always Mike puts on a great lunch with everyone donating a little to help out. I met three San Diego KLR riders that I gave info to the SDAR web site. There were riders from OC and Arizona too. Here are a few photos of the get together. Mike giving some hands on. Nice early KLR all the way from Arizona. Doing the DO upgrade. Valve adjustment. Thanks Mike for hosting a great event.

    Dyna Beads

Roger, I have something like this in the large RV tires. Works great, but I don't see how it can work with a inner tube. I didn't see on the other link where anyone stated if they are using the product or the air soft pellets in a tire with a tube?
  15. Twice in a row when racing there the guy parked next to me went home in the ambulance instead of his own truck - I thought ....hmmmmm Really looking forward to this vintage race, gotta see a Maico....memories! This is why I race vintage, oh yea every so often someone gets taking away in the ambulance. Vintage is very safe I feel, no 2 ft whoop section, all the jumps are table top and the track pretty much stays rut free. I would say it you have never raced but wanted to try it even if you ride a modern bike a vintage event would be the place to try it. Yes they have modern support classes but the track is very kind. Racing is racing, I bet Frank from CALVMX would even drop in a DS class if we had enough so up. Look this is a premier event right here and you can see many of the older greats race, talk to them and check out some very cool bikes.

That's wild, I have never heard of them going after the Cat. I have a Toyota also and I hope the fact its in the driveway with motion light will work to keep it safe.

    SDAR on TV?

I mention SDAR to my friend Dave Stall at KUSI, he sent me this email. Would love to do a segment on your motorcycle group, ould Check with your group and pick a date in May, June etc. etc., either a Wednesday-Friday-Saturday (Be careful with Saturday, you could get bumped by KUSI Sales) Sunday (Most watched morning show). Dave... If we do a Sunday show we would need to arrive by 7am and we would be done by 8am. So what about May 26th?? May 26th is now out due to holiday.Far enough out to plan? Kelly OK looks like pushing for June 2nd Please chime in so we can nail it down.

    Great Tool for $10

I needed new chain and sprockets, with the o-ring chain I needed a chain press. These can range from $10 to $100, I wanted to try this $10 model as I may only use it a few times a year and its small enough to carry on the trail if needed. It worked perfect, took about 3 min to get the link on with no issues. For the money this tool is a winner.
