  1. Packing up now, looking forward to seeing some new faces out there this weekend =)
  2. Google Maps driving directions from San Diego: CLICK HERE Just click that link, and input your own starting address in the "Start Address" section. Point A: San Diego Point B: Strega Camp Spot Point C: Crawdaddy Camp Spot (To C then left N/NW .2 miles) I'm meeting a guy from work out there and I would love to swing buy and say hello. I'll be on my Yamaha WR450F, and will try and stop in and find ya.
  3. I'm just too paranoid now to go down to Mexico, especially with my bikes. I think after all the bad news lately, my riding career is going to stay north of the border for as far as I can foresee.
  4. Holy cow...hope you heal quickly!!!

Well with the teams being able to prep balls now, it shouldn't be as bad as the games of old.

Quality place, I really enjoyed it there.
  7. Someone pulled out in front of us and we t-boned them in an intersection. Airbags out, the whole 9. I'm really sore, head hurts, but I'll be riding again this weekend for sure. Been in far worse bike wrecks, so I'm happy we're both ok.
  8. Sorry I haven't been able to post yet, got in a car wreck today and just trying to get everything in line on that front, haven't been able to upload my pics yet. Thank you Dirt Dame for the nice write up, I couldn't have said it better myself. Thanks! Also looking forward to more rides with all the nice people I met yesterday. I also wanted to say thanks to Ken for riding sweep for us, that was great. I'll be happy to return the favor anytime. Couple of pics that my cousin Brian took, who was on the 07 WR250F: Consolidated Picture Archive ( I'm missing 1 rider in the text file in that directory, who am I missing?? )
  9. *OFFICIAL EDIT* (Friday 12:21pm) Sat Jan. 12th, we are MEETING at Campo at 9am. Looks like possibly ELEVEN on this ride so far: Myself, Brian (Cousin), Scott (Friend), Siverson, Erick, Ozzy, FJCruisin, dualsportdrz, Joliet, Dirt Dame, KLRoger. Difficulty: Beginner Location: Campo Official meeting spot is here at 9am: 32.59043,-116.467953 Problem is, you can't get driving directions from Google with that, so you can use the following coordinate for that. Then check out the 2 map links before that for that last 500 yards of driving. Last mapable coordinates with Google Maps is here: 32.597230, -116.466764 Map Part 1 - Full Drive via 94 Map Part 1 - Full Drive via 8 Map Part 2 - Last Bit Nearest cross streets are I-94 and Forest Gate Road. From 94 you go EAST on Forest Gate till you hit the dirt, just past the Juvenile Camp for Boys. As you can see, from the last mapable coordinate, just head due South to that clearing before the fence. You will see THIS SIGN shortly after you get on the dirt road. At that moment, you are headed East, and will be following the fence on your right (Horse Corals) and staying right at that last mapable coordinate, and then headed South.

I took that price into South Bay, I told them what I could get it for in LA, I told them what my time was worth to drive there and back, and they made me a great deal. I'm glad I have that relationship now with the dealership that's close anytime I need work done. Glad you had a good experience with OCCS.

    home invasion near me

The interesting thing about a Shotgun, is that you don't have ever had to own one, or have ever shot one to know what a shell being chambered sounds like. EVERYONE knows that sound. One of the FEW TIMES violence on TV and movies will work to your benefit.

    Fun Bike Center, Bike Fit

FBC tried to royally screw me over on the price on my '07 WR450F. I called FBC and spoke with a guy that said they had the bike in the showroom and that I should come down and check it out. I told him I was just quoted $6700 from OTD Cyclesports in LA, and that if they could just get CLOSE to that price, I'd be happy. He said, "Come on down, and we'll make you a good deal." So I make the trip down there, find the guy and she shows me the bike. He said, "Want me to pull it out so you can sit on it?" I said, "No, I want to buy it." He said GREAT and had me sit down at his desk to start up the paperwork. He started punching #'s into his desktop calculator, and came up with $8950 out the door. I looked at the guy like he was from Mars and said, "You're joking right?" He said, "Well I can take off the assembly fee and maybe the truck fee, and that would bring it to (click click click on the calculator) $8725." I looked at the guy and said, "I told you on the phone what OTD quoted me OUT THE DOOR, and now you want to charge me TWO GRAND more than OTD??. He said, "NO ONE can sell that bike that cheap...NO ONE." So I stood up, and I walked out of FBC, swearing I would NEVER return unless it was the absolute LAST resort to buy something minor, but NEVER to purchase a vehicle....EVER. He chased me into the parking lot begging me to come back in the store and he would make me a better deal. I told him that I didn't appreciate him trying to rip me off for $2000. Wonder how many people they have ripped off for 1/4 the price of the bike cuz they didn't do their homework. This EXACT same scenario happened with my cousin who walked in with a check book ready to buy. He was so pissed about the price he was quoted he walked right out and will never go back. I ended up picking up my '07 WR450F from South Bay Motorsports, a price so good I'm not gonna post it here. They treated me well, and it was worth the 30 min drive down to Chula Vista. I believe I will be buying any and all future off road vehicles from there. I'm REALLY not the type of guy to endorse someone or something, but South Bay exceeded my expectations. By purchasing my bike there, I also get a discount on everything else I buy there, and they are constantly sending me coupons for $$ of labor on service, % off on merchandise, etc. I'm very very happy with the service I have been given there.
  18. Beginner to Intermediate. There's nothing there that's too crazy unless you want it to be. There are some spots that have some interesting hills, etc, but there's always an easy way up near the hard way. This is a ride definitely doable for a beginner. Would be glad to have you join us.
  19. I typically like to get to Campo by 9am, gives me about 30 minutes to get unloaded, geared/warmed up, etc. We could ride East for a bit, checking out that area, then back to the truck to top of the tank and head West towards Tecate. Depending on how many side trails we take, we can arrive in Tecate at anytime to grab a bite to eat or go up Tecate Peak and come back for food when anyone is hungry. There is enough riding for a full day, we can ride as long as people are up for it. When I ride with my cousin out there, we typically get done between 2-3 pm, so not a terribly long day. There's more riding to be had, but when that sun starts casting a shadow, the fingers start to get a little cold this time a year.
  20. Campo/Tecate is definitely and interesting ride, there's more riding than you could do in a day, so plenty to see. Best riding is with people who haven't seen the area before, so don't worry about the beginner stuff, the border patrol roads are well groomed, so we can stick to those or take some side trips on some stuff that is a little more snake like. What part of San Diego are you in, wouldn't mind throwing your bike in for the ride out as well. It would be a bit of a trek in the morning at cold temps. I'm in Sorrento Valley, by the 5/805 split. I'm inclined to want to go Saturday, since the Charger game is on Sunday. But, if Sat doesn't work I can always DVR the game if needs be.
