Hi there! Just joined up and looking forward to meeting with other riders, maybe even as soon as tomorrow at the club meeting (great timing). My name is Jonathon but I go by JJ. I live in Escondido and just bought and built up a DRZ400s. Been having soo much fun on it with little trails here and there. Used to be a desert rat with the family with quads and jeeps in Ocotillo Wells, but new to dirt on two wheels. Desert Dash I'm looking at you! And to the fellers daytrippin in Ensenada.... how much would you charge to let me tag along on your next trip? This is re-igniting memories of fishing trips to San Quintin village! Also enjoy riding street as well, HD Street Glide and ZZR1200 (new to sport bikes also). Other interests include but are not limited to: Hunting, fishing, prospecting, hiking, camping, shooting, and almost anything else outside. Can get along with pretty much anyone but warning.... I can be one sarcastic prick! Hope to see you all on the trail soon!

Who did I just cross on top of Black Mountain?

Ha! That was Derek and I. Not sure what his username is. I was thinking "What's the chances this guy is a member lol." Great little morning ride! -
Randy, I already answered you in your pm. Yes I left two twenties on the table. No, I don't believe it was my tab. I had a cheeseburger, curly fries and a Modelo. After that I came up and talked to you and Mike about problems I had with the donation button on the site.

Just means I won't be leaving cash on the table and will make sure to get a receipt

After this coming week my bike and I should be very ready for your next invite!
-
Noted, no more cash on the table. Records!

I swear I'm almost ready. Replacement seat on the way, spare tube and tools getting sorted, and some storage then adventure is a go! In the mean time it's little day trips as I learn and gain some more confidence. But SOON!!!! 😎 -

Wow, that video is incredible! One of my goals is to some day work up to this. I just zoned out for 30min with that beautiful video. Well done!!! -
I wish that was me! He's just one of the people I like to watch when I need inspiration or get bored. My operation consists of a back pack with a pan, trowel, screw-driver, and small pick/pry bar. But my operation is growing. When I hit close to half an oz I'll get the metal detector that I can disassemble and pack on the bike. Like I said, time and money. That's all it takes!

Ohh Zubb of little faith lol. Proof of concept: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NtLhDLJReC4 It's gonna happen! Time and Money

Too far away at this time. But when the truck is out of the shop I'll tow up the goat on the next one for sure! -

Prospecting is another old obsession of mine. Ultimate goal for my bike is to get it ready for at least 3 days in the mountains including some light prospecting gear. I'm hoping the bike will help me get to places others don't want to lug gear up to (or at least closer). It never really pays for itself but it's always fun looking for it. Also belong to a prospecting club with private claims but it's hard to find places with water unless during the wet months. Just brings another aspect to camping I enjoy. Plus it's always fun to see someone find their first color or pickers, usually all it takes to get hooked lol. If you want to know more there's two people I like to follow/watch. -AskJeffWilliams He's pretty much insane and most likely my spirit animal in human form but the amount of knowledge in geology and mining techniques is amazing and scary! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F6MNcA06kJc -HowToDrillAWell A little more folksy and homely but very realistic and honest about the search and techniques required. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tyYjFDAwor4&t=1s

good luck on the search Nick. If you'd like to try out a 2003 drz400s for perspective just let me know! Located in North County! https://imgur.com/pojqceH https://imgur.com/k7nXwKW

Welcome MOTOGILSD! I'm also new to the site. Looking forward to the adventures to come!

Hi John, Fellow newbie to the site. I'm also in North County. Let me know if you ever want to get a ride going. Are you at all interested in prospecting? Maybe I can talk you into a ride through a couple claims of mine so I can pick your brain. All your days cost would be on me.... Think about and let me know, there's gold in them thar hills!!!
