  1. My biff was almost identical...Was chasing trying to catch a buddy and hit that in 3rd gear and moving way too fast. I just picked a rut and hoped for the best. It spit me out at the top just like you, but I hit my head and thought I broke every rib on my right side. Think I caught my thumb on the mirror exiting the bike since it felt broke for about a month. Felt that one for two months but no damage other than plastic and helmet scratches and and no actual injuries. I just layed there until my buddy realized I was not behind him anymore šŸ˜
  2. Those big ruts where you parked is where I had my worst get off so far...šŸ˜³

Eyeing Yamaha WR250R and Honda CRF250L

After a year on the WR, I find myself wanting a litte more power. The WR has adjustable suspension front and rear, I donā€™t think the CRFL does. Iā€™m in no rush to move up though as this bike has taken me everywhere I wanted to go even at 230. Lbs. I am looking to get the suspension sprung and revalved for me though.

Suspension Tuning - Actually - KTM 450 XCW

Me and my meager WR would be interested as well, but I would like to get sprung and valved first.

Glad Iā€™m not the only one cracking up at this..

    Old Anvil

Thatā€™s neat, I love old stuff like that...There is a Blacksmith Museum in Old Town.

    Jacumba North

The wind does whip pretty good there at times, but that just clears the dust away faster. Go a couple days after a rain and itā€™s perfect.
  8. Explored the trails that head west behind table mountain. Great noob area with some fun technical/rocky terrain. Donā€™t think we saw it all either. A short vid of the mighty 250 and the stall master rider. https://youtu.be/gNNNhRc8BMA

    Jacumba North

Yes we did, we were looking for the same route you speak of. Was also trying to get above the railroad tracks to view the tresses and tunnels.
  10. The first 12 are on me...when I get the nerve up. Pulling the heads does not sound fun either. You work for beer money?
  11. Sorry I missed it, just wasnā€™t in the cards today. Canā€™t wait to hear about it...Going to hit Jacumba in the morning, like make-up sex.

    Teen Motorcycle Permit

The two day course is great and once you pass that you get a certificate so you do not have to do the riding test at DMV.
  13. Ive been dreading the plug change in my 120k mile 5.4 liter truck... You made it look easy
  14. Cool, and lots of neat stuff on your Tube page.
  15. Cool bike and pics...A place I have yet to explore also.
  16. For me itā€™s just a timing thing...Not afraid of the challenge. Iā€™ve fallen before and Iā€™ll surely fall again at some point. Sounds like a good gauge of me and my bikes current abilities.
  17. That would be helpful. I have never ridden this area and would pick up a trail map from the rangers while there. Iā€™ll PM an e mail Mr. Bowers
  18. I am out for Sunday, I AM going to tackle this route/challenge. Possibly on Monday or later next week as Iā€™ll be off the next two weeks. I need to figure out the starting point and trail route.
  19. Lurking also, not too worried about the hill as much as deep sand since I am on a low power 250. Does anyone have a GPX file of this loop they would share?
  20. Pretty much, we explored the trail that heads below the repeater stations behind Table Mtn. if your familiar. Did not finish that trail since my buddy needed fuel (bonehead). want to go back and see where they go. I do want to check out Fish Creek and other places in Borrego/Ocotillo, but the lil 250 suffers in the sand. I am still novice, but willing..
  21. But the lack of dust was worth it..Did about 50 miles north Jacumba and into McCains Valley. Lark Canyon was a zoo with trucks and bikes. Turned around and left..Brrrr
  22. Sorry I missed meeting you guys...Next time perhaps.

    Red Feather

I think I passed you on Old 80. You were Eastbound and we (2 Yamahaā€™s) weā€™re Westbound near McCains Valley. I waved...
