  1. this would be hard core no-trail hunting in the baja desert. I never leave the GS home. But would certainly be looking for a desert bike to use should this idea ever become an actual plan.
  2. PM inbound. I’m in Idaho for a bit right now.
  3. Gorgeous bike in legit sand right there. There’s a bit more to the game than just getting up on plane, but that’s a large part. playing in sand is an evolutionary process for most of us. I love it as there’s always more to learn.

    All good now. No worries.
  5. It’s all perspective, isn’t it.
  6. Truly one of the best sounding bikes there is. I could easily hear him just rolling along Ceder Creek from the gate at Eagle Creek. Going up the far trail. yet, it is not uncomfortable when riding it. Reminds me of a 990 with a Rottweiler intake. But slightly more refined.
  7. WooHoo! I have a couple ‘secret spots’ to go sand playing with you.
  8. Right? Let's form a hunting party and go tag this thing in a group photo.
  9. Count me in if the dates work.
  10. What does it smell like on day 2 or day 3? Would you do a 7 day BDR tour in it?
  11. Forcefield - Yes Christmas sweater - Nope. But that does give me an idea.
  12. Yeh I think the Motoport is probably the best of the best functionally. I just can’t get past the Oz and the Tin Man look. I guess I’m not as mature as the calendar says I am. The Klim leisure suit actually looks dam- neato on Tom, but then he’s also a Sr Citizen Sports Model. My American size might look less svelt. Once you see the fabric you know it’s perfect for touring the southwest. Just add rain gear. And no, it is not Charger Blue, notably the worst NFL uniform color in the history of full contact sports.
  13. Waiting. You have info on this?
  14. BMW Rally Pro suit is on the long term buy list, once they offer a color other than Black. If this could be had now in a light color, I'd skip the Marakesh altogether.
  15. I'm settling into the belief that I now need 3 clothing systems. Klim Marakesh pant and jacket are on the buy list.
  16. Yeh the border crossing point is spot on. I do it repeatedly. Same principle applies west to Otay and San Ysidro. Have never crossed at Mexicali but I believe the method is practiced there too. the polite thing to do is to pull up near the front on the side and kill your motor. Within a few moments either BP or the car drivers will nod at you to go ahead in front of them. it will cure you of ever wanting to cross in a car again.
  17. He's legit. Click on his @kkug and you'll see his posts. That's his high school graduation picture. Full explanations abound on the forum. He's the second nicest guy you'll ever meet.
  18. @kkug is the man. He's everywhere, man. Literally in various places around the world now. If you look, you'll see him at Coyote Cals also, just for starters. He's a much loved member of this forum and rides bicycles and motos just about everywhere. We gotta get you some kkug stickers Padu. You can search him here.
  19. Did you see the Kkug sticker on the 5 day video at 10:25? GREAT RR Padu!!

The Dez seemed to be an odd mix of better than average hero sand, newer deeper ruts and oddly much deeper than usual fluff sand on the floor below grapevine.
