Awesome. I think i saw you guys under a tree(culd ben sumone else). I was up there with my 4x4 checking out the dispersed campsites. Took the 4x4 up thru cedar creek . Found some side shoots, my  4x4 was kickin up deep fine dust on a steep side area . Didnt make it all the way up that time but had a nice picnic at the bottom in the shade (out past 3 Sisters).

Great day. Glad you guys had fun.

Yup that was probably us! We were under a tree for a bit airing up tires and adjusting my clutch cable. Dropped the bike and I think it popped loose when it hit the ground. Atleast we found some shade out there!

  2. Sorry I forgot my laptop at work friday so I didnt have access to the site and didnt see anyones responses that were posted Saturday. We ended up parking at the PV cul de sac and went down into Pine Creek rd. Rode the dirt section and some off shoots. Then came back and rode out thru deer park rd. Came back to Pine Creek rd and took that out to Sunrise Hwy for some twisties and lunch. Fun ride but hot out there.

  3. I will be heading out to Corral on Sunday 7/1 for a morning ride with 2 buddies. Probably going to start with exploring the easier trails since one buddy is fairly new to the dirt bike world and see where it goes from there. We will be at the OHV staging area about 9 am on Sunday in a Silver F-150 with a Black Kawi and 2 Yamahas. Just throwing it up here to see if any one you rascals will be in the area and want to join in on some fun.

  4. Woke up early and headed out to Otay Mtn on Saturday morning on a whim. Parked and unloaded at the pio pico market then headed up the mountain to do some exploring. Despite only riding there once before I was surpirsingly able to navigate myself and buddy up to the towers at the top, the bunkers, and down to the border road section. Then we did a little exploring on some of the off shoot trails for awhile. Thanks to all the guys who attended the NOOB ride at otay that Roasty put on earlier this year for showing me around the mtn so I could show my friend around a little. Perfect weather and no crowd. Only saw 1 moto and a 4 runner with what looked to be 2 teen age girls who probably werent old enough to be driving haha. Packed up and gone by 2 pm. I dont take a lot of pictures but heres a couple from the morning.

  5. Crawdaddy,

Ill look into the poker run and see if i can make the ride.

Have you heard of "Here with Hope" ? Its a pediatric cancer foundation started and run by my cousin, also in Ramona. She started it when her daughter was diagnosed with a brain tumor and has done wonderful things for many pediatric cancer patients over the past 3 or so years. All proceeds stay in town to help local families. Still a small outfit but the foundation has really taken off recently. Maybe you guys could link up for events or something since it seems like you both have similair charitable interests. PM me if you want some more details and thank you for all you do to support organizations like this! F**K CANCER

  6. So I loaded up the wife, dog, and bike in the truck Friday morning and headed to Corral Canyon for the weekend. Camped out and did some solo riding. The weather was great and it was pretty quiet out there. I expected a lot more riders & jeepers since its a holiday weekend but I only saw a few on the trail.  Since I am fairly noob and rode alone I took it easy but man I had a hoot! Rode bobcat, Corral, and part of Wrangler (got mixed up on Corral and ended up on Wrangler). Then I went up Los Pinos Rd to see the fire tower but the top gate was closed. Lastly, I took a cruise down corral canyon rd south from the campground all the way down to Skye Valley rd (I think, map wasn't very clear). It was starting to get late and I was not entirely sure what trail I was on so I headed back so I wouldnt have to navigate unfamilair areas in the dark.  Had some cold beers, chili dogs, and a bit of bourbon.. then off to bed. Great day.  FYI its getting really chilly at night out there and fire restrictions are still in effect until 12/4 according to ranger station.

Woke up, bacon, eggs, and breakfast potatoes with coffee. Then a bit more wandering about on the bike and it was time to pack up.  Only a couple photos but got alot of GoPro footage. Take a look if your'e bored. Im sure I am a lot slower than most of you but I wanted to be careful on the overgrown corners and I am not familiar with the area.  Still I had a fantastic time getting out there and riding. Id love to ride this area with someone who knows the terrain better some day!

  7. Hey guys is anyone going to corral canyon this weekend???

I wanna get out for the weekend and do some camping & riding. Ive only camped at corral canyon once before and it wasnt too packed. Im wondering if the campground will be full since its thanksgiving weekend and its a tiny campground. Anyone stayed there during this time of year before and have some input?

Anyways, Ill be heading out friday morning with the wife, dog, and bike in the truck. Ive actually never ridden there.. only camped and done some wheeling in the jeep.  Easy mellow pace at first and then see how things go. Noobish ride for sure.  If anyone wants to join me and maybe show me some good trails out here that would be awesome.  Ill have beer and food. PM me or post a reply. Ill check this thread from time to time.

    Thanks guys!
