I was at least fortunate enough to drive myself to the hospital, even if it was with 2 broken ankles. The others got the more expensive helicopter ride. All joking aside I look forward to the day I get to ride with kenny again. I think we sidetracked this thread enough, welcome to the club!

Does the kickstand have a safety switch like the drz400s model has? if so bypass it. If not than It really does sound like a stator issue since its cutting out under load.

If you have the stock Petcock I would check the vacuum hose for cracks or leaks. If you haven't already you might want to buy a 30 dollar yamaha raptor on/off/reserve on. The stock one is known to fail and either leak gas and flood your motor or not let fuel flow to the carb. Go through darrens list. Also if bike has a lot of miles could be stator issue you can read about it on thumpertalk.com.

I'm not gonna be riding for a while. Fractured tib/fib on right leg and have CT scan scheduled to rule out surgery. The left has a slight fracture but no where as bad. I didn't see it till it was too late. Only time to gas it to get the front wheel up. Didn't crash but the impact was pretty bad but feel like my bike should have handled the landing better but it all happened so fast it's hard to say.

Be carful with an impact hammer on that soft brass screw in the aluminum carb. I gave a little motion pro carb set that works pretty good

The pre 2001 or automatic cam chain tensioner were known to fail in the open position. The later black colored acc just puts alot of tension and is known to stretch the cam chain prematurely but with only 2000 miles doubt that's the case. I would check the drz FAQ section at thumpertalk.com and do the loctite fixes if you haven't already. Sorry to hear with such low miles. Hope it's something simple.
