I'm looking to ride the GasGas this weekend on some technical/singletrack... Likely headed to Butterfield Saturday morning with the crew then back to SD that evening for a reggae concert (Iration) at Del Mar track. Sunday, though, I'm wwwwwwwwide open... JAH BBBRAPAFARI!!!

Yet another rave review of George at Suspension 101... First, my stock DR650 shock was bottoming far too often while frantically chasing RiggerDan through Baja over the summer, so George updated the spring, readjusted the valving, and performed a routine overhaul. Result: Had no idea a DR could stick to the ground like that, and never bottoms out! Next, I entrusted George with my cherished GasGas 300 2T while he completely overhauled the suspension. I'm a thorough tech geek and George didn't mind explaining each and every improvement and change he made to the Marzocchi forks and Ohlins shock. The shock just needed a routine servicing, but the Marzocchi took some work to get dialed. George's knowledge is waaaaaaaay above mine, so I'll just say that he did a lot of custom work to the forks on the GG to stop deflecting on quick hits, reduced bottoming, and made the forks smooth and linear throughout the stroke. I am glad I left my toys with George and will recommend his services to anyone/everyone. Oh, and for another $100 USD he'll throw in some homemade pesto, I hear...

I bought the Gen3 recently, along with the insurance... looking forward to reading your thoughts about the insurance product....

I've tried Michelins, Bridgestones, Dunlops on the GasGas 300 2T, and you're right, they wear fast! My favorite thus far is definitely the Motoz Tractionator Enduro I/T rear. It seems to grip even better as it wears, which is a first. I haven't tried it in pure sand (Glamis, Superstish) yet, but I bet the paddle-like directional tread pattern will work well as a sand hybrid, too... http://www.chaparral-racing.com/product/motoz-tractionator-enduro-it-intermediate-terrain-rear-tire/908-110-100-18.aspx The matching front has been outstanding as well. First, it hooks up consistently and very predictably, and second, it is the only tire so far NOT TO CHUNK at all after several days of sharp rock punishment at Corral Canyon. Awesome trip report, Rich! About 30 of us used to pilgrimage from Montana to Moab every year to ride mountain bikes;that place is every bit as amazing as they say. Love the descriptions of the bike mount, always wanted to load my bike on the DR...

'Twas an incredible and memorable lil Mexican adventure. Wish I had photos of Riggah ripping 1/2 mile long 4th gear wheelies on the beach... weaving between kelp pieces... with ooh ooh birds... and KTM braaaaap... and NO ONE around for miles. Thank you Rigger for showing me around Riggahville. Cielito Lindo! It's worthwhile to mention that our rigs were 2nd and 3rd from the very last ones let through the Tecate crossing at precisely 10:59 PM... after a 3 hour wait. Hundreds of cars behind us turned away. We got our money worth!
