  1. Blake and Ty and I will be there, too. Looking forward to meeting you Matt. Just hoping to finish 2 or more loops... 50-75 miles of LAMC Tecate singletrack should be a helluva "sporty" challenge!
  2. No, but, seriously, Blake's right... you got a 3-stroke? LOVE???
  3. Huckin' off to the left of the ramp is an option, right? Miles of smiles! Next year!
  4. I'll be in Montana for a Sturgill Simpson concert... I'm out. So Rigger can have shotgun and his bed back. Because we are friends.
  5. Hope you get the weather we had at Lark yesterday... 78 and blowy!
  6. I actually understood all that. Man, I love 2 strokes.

    May 18-20 Greenhorns

Sorry, forgot to update this post... I'm out. I'm off to Idaho for this week to ride the Klim Cow Tag event (w Ty) and rip around Boise/McCall for a few days instead. Hope you still make it to the Sierras. I'm interested in planning a trip late July or September instead.

Hey Pasta/everyone else... I'm eyeing June 24-26 on the Kern trails. I've donated enough to earn a meal and night at Democrat Hot Springs and bought a shitload of raffle tickets, so thinking about attending in person. Anyone else interested/available for some beer and singletrack that weekend? http://stewardsofthesequoia.org/SOS-BBQ2016.html?utm_content=Seth&utm_source=VerticalResponse&utm_medium=Email&utm_term=Click Here for details&utm_campaign=SOS-Sequoia Trails and Dinner on uscontent
  9. Cheah right! You see how long he focused on that Beta machine? I see Italian red in his future... after he wears the WR250 out on the TAT. Great ride guys, hard to keep up with you LB and you did AWESOME on those street tires Pokey! Great to see/cheers everyone. Will happen again...
  10. Okay, Wintyfresh and I are definitely in for tomorrow. We're riding from his house (off the 67) and will plan to meet anyone at Packard's Coffee at 6:45 6:30. Sunset is at 7:36 PM, so kickstands up from Packard's at 7 6:30ish is probably necessary... correct me if I'm wrong... EDIT: Leaving Packard's before 6:45!

    2016 Beta 500RS

I follow the two Beta forums pretty closely... http://www.thumpertalk.com/forum/353-beta/ http://www.betarider.org/forum/index.php My 2014 has always had a Ballistic battery in it... starts instantly every time for 3,200 miles now. I'd try to ride the carb vs. FI versions and see which throttle sensitivity you prefer. Although, the consensus is that the FI bikes are also ridiculously linear in power delivery, too. Great bikes. We'll put it this way... When (if?) my Gas Gas ever dies, my garage will also have a new 2T Beta 300RR in it as well.

    2016 Beta 500RS

Yep, and madly in love. Mine's carbureted, but sounds like the FI has been working well in the newer bikes. Post specific questions or PM me and I'd be happy to help.

  14. Thanks for doing some trail maintenance guys! Hard work. Cheers

    6D Helmets.

FYI - Not sure why, but 6D helmets are on Amazon these days for $361 + tax... over half off. Several colors and sizes. Search for "6D ATR-1" and sort by price and you'll see em. I ordered one on Sunday, received today w Prime shipping and it's legit. Super nice product.
  16. Seeking a solid crew of 3-4 to do a quick (1 night/2 day) blast through Baja either/both: Sat-Sun Feb 13-14 Sat-Sun Mar 5-6 The Beta is ready and I'm radio and GPS-equipped. No preference in route, but prefer small bikes and (if possible) intermediate+ singletrack sections connecting high speed roads and 2-track. Not too familiar with Baja, but I'm interested in a night at Mike's or Coyote Cal's or ??? Let's try to avoid snow. Anyone interested/available? Rigger? Blake? Jacob? Kato? Goofy? PMB? Arnie? CID? Other Baja adventurers?
  17. Hey guys - Bad news; I'm a 'maybe' at this point because I may need to be in San Jose for work on Sunday evening the 6th. 7-8 seems to me like too many for one group anyway, so maybe you guys can split into two groups/trips. I'm hopeful one or two of you can take the lead and organize a trip (or two) in my absence. I'll circle back around once I find out about my work plans... sorry to flake. FYI - Jacob and I ripped to Mike's and back a couple weekends ago - 185 miles per day (few extra miles around Fire Tower closure), rode fairly hard/fast with normal gas/food breaks (plus 1 flat) and barely beat darkness both days. $70 PER PERSON, but showers were warm, supper/bfast was decent, included free coffee. I think Coyote Cal's and back would be about the same, if not a little longer.
  18. Hi All, I feel like I've "stalled out" when it comes to improving my technical riding. I rode a lot of steep, gnarly, technical singletrack in Montana and have spent the last several months exploring the canyons and steeps of Corral Canyon and Ocotillo, and now feel ready to take a formal class/training to improve a few relatively advanced enduro/MX-specific techniques that still make me very nervous... mainly wheelies, "seat bumping", log crossing, clutch feathering during steep hairpin turns, and jumping! I've read a few posts from folks who enjoyed Motoventures courses (with Gary) and am interested in doing the same, but thinking a group of us would be a fun day out, and may save some significant $$$. Here's a link to the Motoventures site. I'm thinking about the Level 3 class and will bring my GasGas. Anyone else interested? http://www.motoventures.com/training-options-and-prices I would like to schedule something for early to mid April, before it gets too hot and will need firm commitment on a date (or two) to (potentially) negotiate a group rate. Thoughts? Cheers

  20. AWESOME! 2 of us this weekend (Jacob and myself) for a reconnaissance run. I'll check with Kug's group re: snow in/around Laguna Hanson. 5 of us for March 5/6: Troy Benny Erik Jim Me Recommend the 500, Jim. Erik, 690 should be fine, though I will seek out easy-moderate singletrack to mix things up if I can find reliable tracks from others. I'll start a group PM soon.
