Not single track (or who knows??) But if you're interested I'm riding later today and through the night probably until around 1 or 2am down from Julian into desert. You're welcome to join or just part of it maybe (Oriflame)? Meteor shower in full effect these days, and around 2 the moon sets..

Well I remembered that thread and if anyone was thinking of visiting the historical area a friend told me today he saw a bigO locked gate in at least one of the tunnel that was open or not there before.. not one of the tunnel with a tight single track around it either. This was a bit north of trestle. Apparently.

I remember watching those guys getting onto the boat in Marseille as a kid, crossing the Mediterranean into Africa was where it got real for them, you could feel the tension, man it was something. Thanks for the article

Wanna thank my old trail buddy Jon for making this happen and Darren for meeting us for the second part of the ride. We built a few good camp fire stories on this ride..
Jon and I Left sd friday 9pm, back sd 24hours later, 250miles.
8 to Alpine, up viejas, then skyline, a bit cold but beautiful moonless night on the trails, gas in julian, from there all dirt down to tapiado.. were we set camp around 2 or 3am. 8am saturday it was on again. Diablo, fish (busy there!), goat trail etc, eventually popped out on pegleg rd for lunch and beer in Borrego. Finally up culp, grapevine and backup to julian on dirt again with wrinkles.. Left Darren on s1, Jon and I reversed back down skyline etc back to SD..
Chasing jon around with the 2 wheel rarely aligned. going over that one tree log 1am on a tight single track and loaded bikes. The wildlife we came upon throughout this ride. seeing Darren popup at camp with only one glove on and a smile. surfing up and down diablo and the overall soft conditions in Anza Borrego right now (full throttle in the "sand river" like woaaa!!). Burrito in BS. Running into BP619 in borrego. Jon's "let do this" attitude. Darren's "**** yea" attitude. Whateva else i forget.
Good spirits. Good riding. Good people. Till next time

A few were so big and low in the sky yesterday that I saw them while riding like 👽 were crashing! The comets seemed to all come from abouts the same direction I noticed, towards the end of my loop on cross over trail with my bike pointed Westish they were in front of me shooting parallel to the horizon in a N-S direction. But for the full show wait until the Moon sets (happened around 2.30 am yesterday), then you can see even the smaller ones.
