  1. Whish i could make it. Always good fun on BS rides Rode the area about a week ago and gate was locked (again) on maroon, couldnt reach the river and had to turn around. Might be open now, i dont know what their criterias are. And you re right i did find some fun hill climbs.. from pio pico when you reach the top of otay go left on main graveled trail then shortly after you ll see some un-graveled hills on your right. Those side trail go up, down, then meet again with the main trail further down the mountain. Have fun on the new beast!
  2. This line doesn't exist anymore right? seemed much harder to go down and back up this thing last sunday.. IIRC (my lips are still chapped 2 days later) looking at this picture I gunned it in a straight line from the bottom of the pic to somewhere where the front wheel is.
  3. Looking back, though, this was just a rookie story of getting a bit freaked out in an unexpected situation. I really just missed a turn and got myself way deeper than expected that's all. compared to some of the stuff I've read (like the bikeslut & co story in phantom I read last week) its peanut. Just wanted to share, learned a lesson. See ya all soon.
  4. thanks. yes I also heard about the Spot thingy from Bagster not long ago.. wise. i really need to look into that, and a GPS
  5. When I saw the pics earlier @ heart attack I thought about you and all other bigger bikes that must have been on the DD, did you make it down pinyon and up fairchild on the big bike?? or was there an alternate route?
  6. This is awesome. Next year i will not miss this!! now that i think about it i saw many bikes today and it s possible i crossed your path in split mountain/fish creek, how random. It was around 10am or so i think and i was riding south from ow to canyon sin nombre

another good day on the trails, thanks BS. Kernan sealed the deal at the end (it was the new guy (sorry forgot your name again man), billp, cj54x, ruggle, and myself) while slabbing it home I noticed oil drops on my left boot, on top of loosing my spark arrestor I also blew a fork seal today.
  15. Sorry just saw this... I have the 6x1 HeliCoil kit. Live in Santee if you wanna come get it and giv'er tonight before the ride. Maybe you've sorted it already.... Vic, thumbs up. helicoil did the trick the old klr valve cover is snug again, see you all in the AM
  16. That would help tremendously and save my weekend!!. PMed you
  17. You know it --- update: stripped one of my valve cover bolt last night dong the latest EM mod (advanced the exhaust cam 1 tooth) so depending on how long it's going to take to heli-coil the sucker (I don't have the m6 kit handy) I might be late/missing.

    Dorner cornered now!

Bummer I was pulling for him. Lol Just kidding of course this is nuts. they specifically said they had found him dead inside that cabin, then 2 hours later they said that they haven't actually recovered a body, and 5 minutes ago they now say that they havent entered the cabin??? what is going on here
  21. Damn. Maybe do that drainage hole and use it to soak the other side of the bolt with pb for a while. Then welded nut again.. Also someone mentionned heat, that does work well on seized bolts good luck!
  22. the complete group (all the bikes at least) after Bill arrived. not sure who that is riding the drop, but that s BS all the way down (waving?) everyone's pumps were too small for BS natural formations naturally made by nature. no idea how these got here good times!
  23. I plan to leave SD @ 5:30am, wildcat canyon rd/78, coffee in Julian, and see you at 8. just wanted to confirm that this is indeed the meeting point? http://goo.gl/maps/x5WdO also if anyone wants to ride out together let me know.
