Ok, so the first route you have there are a couple issues. First, when you are heading up the first section of Santa Ysabel TT to Black Mountain TT, once you get to that intersection, it becomes an up and back. There is a closed gate and you can not connect Black Mountain TT all the way to Mesa Grande (the gate is where Black Mountain makes a hard right to go all the way to the top). Instead, head up Santa Ysabel TT but stay to the right once you get to the intersection with Black Mountain. Take this all the way to Black Canyon Rd, make a left and head into Mesa Grande. Second, there is no need to go up Palomar Divide. It is back tracking and will add too much time to the route. Once you get to Warner Springs (before you would turn off for Palomar Divide, make a right onto Lost Creek Rd). You can take this all the way into Anza and it's fun...almost all dirt. Once in Anza, there are several options, including the one in the first map. So, use the first map, make the changes I mentioned above, and use this to get you to the 74. Once you are at the 74, use the second map. That section north of 74 is all dirt and drops you down into Banning. I've done the route from Ramona to BB a few times. It's a pretty full day...you're looking at approximately 8 hours on big bikes. PM your email address and I'll send you some track. LB -

Um, did you get the prime rib dip by any chance?? Best thing on the menu if you ask me. Hit me up next time, I was just doing yard work this working and would definitely have broken away for a ride. -
BTW, please don't tell me you picked up an 1190r for 5 grand???

Dude, you're hooked. LOL. Same with the rest of us. I was the guy that put together the two day Santa Rosa ride. You should have jumped in. I also have mid week days off on occasion. Post up your rides and someone might jump in. Or jump in on one of the posted rides. If you work at it for a couple years, you'll establish a new group of riding friends for sure. If you have any questions about doing those multi day rides, start a new thread. Many of us have done them and could provide valuable input that will probably save you money (on set up), etc... Enjoy the addiction...

Long days = Two'fer Tuesdays (two wheels, two trails, two brews, one sunset)

505 cheater for the rear. I just put it on about two weeks ago. Two rides on it for about 300 miles total, about 60/40 dirt / street. It's already showing significant wear. It handles amazing on dirt and pavement but is wearing VERY fast. It would be much better, and justifiable, for someone that isn't riding any street at all... MX216 fatty up front. This is my first time running a fatty and I'm pissed at myself for not trying one sooner. There was a noticeable increase in traction, that I was expecting, but also a noticeable increase in comfort and control, that I wasn't really expecting. The tire really absorbs rocks much better than a regular size tire. And I was running at 2 PSI higher pressure than I normally would. -

It was nice to get back out for a twofer. I got over 40+ miles out of it on my new Shinko gummies....crap, I've never ridden a tire that sticks to the ground like these things.... -

Randy, it's much better now. Generally pretty clear at 6. 4:30 to 5:30 is the worst of it. -
I'm running the KTM touring screen on mine. I have the original screen that is cut down like Paul's and Mike's too. I switch out between the two depending on what I'm doing. When I do longer rides, I like the touring screen. The height doesn't bother me too much off road and having the extra protection on the long slab sections is a life saver for me. I can tuck in behind the touring screen and pin the throttle for an entire day....it's way better than getting buffeted for 10 hours.

To edit the signature you have to go into "account settings". Click on the little triangle by your screename in the upper right corner. Click on account setting. Look on the left hand side of screen for "signature"... 👌

I bet you could get that 790r in the sub 400 range pretty easy. I sure do like it and hope that it pans out to be the kinda bike it's meant to be.

California BDR will be too hot this time of year (at least for me). I did it in March and Furnace Creek was already in the 90's (now highs in the 117 range for sure). I did the Arizona BDR in June and it was fine. Most of it is at 4000' plus elevation. Don't get me wrong, there will be hot areas in June, but overall it's doable. There are some areas of the Utah BDR you would not want to do in June, namely Lockhard Basis (espeically on a 1290), but there are a lot of options like Kelly mentioned and you are at higher elevations than the CABDR for sure. If you have questions about any of those routes, let me know. As far as Colorado, I believe many of the higher passes are still closed due to record snow fall. The key I think is deciding on a route that has some elevation, unless you love riding in 100+ heat. Eastern Arizona is a ton of fun. Lots of options up in the mountains, both dirt and twisties. Decide on an area and purchase the corrisponding Butler map. -

I'm out, just not feeling too good today. Hopefully next time. Have fun.
