Thinking Sat afternoon
Oracle replied to zancat's topic in Informal Local Rides & Who's Going Riding!
We were adopted by an Italian family - didn't you hear? So now I'm Swedish, Norwegian, German, English and Italian! That explains the KTM's, Huskys, Maico's and Cagiva's but not the Yamaha's, Suzuki's and Honda's. Arne, I'm in. I'm heading out for kids baseballs games around 1. I'm planning on 4. Just want to confirm where to meet? -

Disconnecting the radiator fan on my KTM?
Oracle replied to Oracle's topic in Equipment & Technical Forum
This did occur to me. The previous owner mainly used the bike for supermotard, and it was set up for that...including this little ridiculous fan -
Ok, so I've been doing some upgrading. I picked up a 3.4 gallon tank from a memeber and when I tried to install it, I realized it was not going to fit with the radiator fan installed. So I pulled the fan off so I could fit the bigger tank on (priorities!). I never liked the fan running when my bike was off anyway and don't think I'll miss it. So I have two questions. 1. I know the bike does not come stock with the fan installed, but just want to confirm removing it isn't going to be a problem? 2. Do I need to cap off the OEM wiring plug or can I just leave it as is? Thanks, TO Here's a picture, just to make this thread a little more enjoyable...

Disconnecting the radiator fan on my KTM?

Thanks for posting those pics, I'm going to look at relocating it lower...there may be just enough room. Then i'm going add one of those 2.0 caps... -

Disconnecting the radiator fan on my KTM?
Oracle replied to Oracle's topic in Equipment & Technical Forum
Probably a stupid question, but since I'm new to KTM, I'll ask it anyway... If the fan is so necessary, and the bike is prewired for a one, why isn't it an OEM install on the bike off the shelf??? My style of riding is medium to fast pace. I have another bike for the track, so that's not a concern. I'm leading to Spaughs advise on the upgraded rad cap. TO -

Very sad! We lost at least two or three riders in San Diego this weekend unfortunately. Here's a link to her memorial ride http://www.meetup.com/sandiegosportbikemeetupgroup/events/107564782/

Nor do I. It's sick to think any of this is funny or to joke about it!

I have a Trekker too and agree that it is a very good helmet for the price. I also agree that an XD4 would be an excellent choice, albeit pricey. My MX helmet is an Arai and I think they are among the best helmets made and have always liked them (more than Shoei). The Trekker is very comfortable, however, I had to purchase a XXL when I normally wear an XL. And the side profile makes it act like a sail when you turn your head at speed. To me, it's not significant, but thought I would mention it. Anyone else with a Trekker experience this?

Thanks for the write up buddy and it was great riding with you guys! But, that second picture does not include me. I'm not sure who that is with Zancat... -
I'm in! Shooting for the 8 am ride, but if not there, leave without me and I'll be there by 9am. Is there a particular spot by the Ranger Station??? Vehicle descriptions?? I'll be in a black Yukon with a bike rack on the back.

Definitely NO gas at Blu Inn...and based on conversation with the owners, unfortunately, there never will be again. Closest gas to OW now is Borrego or Salton Sea.
