DItto on what fits best, then what has the best ventilation and of course all within budget.
As for some gooogley eye protection, same a s above.
Ears plugs (the foam kind) are a definite for me. Every once in a harvest moon I forget to put them in. When that happens, the ride stops immediately, because the decibels are TOO LOUD for my listening holes, be it from motor, tailpipe or wind.
Like a few other riders, I use a mouth guard as well. Got it free, molded to me, one from my dentist. You wouldn't know you would need one until you bit through your face and/or tongue from getting bumped off the bronco. Not to be confused with a night guard (those cost some serious cash) and have a different purpose.

PV to Julian with "rough single track." Message me this roughness you speak of.

Always worth revisiting.

Quite the adventure on the road and at home. Paul if you have a ride route map (gps?) please post. Unless I missed that you already did post it, ignore me. Thanks.

Gery,
Mr. Husky, a.k.a Robertaccio is good people as are a lot of the peeps on here. Don't let the "Fearless & Hardcore Rider" posts steer you from asking to ride with people. Many here are of different levels of skill and yet, many of them ride together.

The photos didnt quite capture the severity of the steep section.
Got anymore? Youve peaked my curiosity.
Pics often never do show true steepness.
Ther rest of the pics I have don't really tell you more. I only took a few. The drop was hard on the knees.
Message me for more info.

Not at all. I ain't that old, but old enough to recognize it's potential age. Actually think the car was 50s to early 60s

Hiked an old jeep route by Oriflamme a few weeks back accesible right off the S1 and drops you out on the S2. Some of it was easily a 7 grade slope, rutted, fine loose top, and varied from 7ft across to mostly 3ft to 1ft. The steep slope was the latter with more like an uneven V shaped trail due to the ruts. It hadn't seen vehicles in years, with the exception of the top 1 mile of the route. This was all Anza-Borrego Desert State Park area. The gates are usually closed, but not locked.
This route would definitely have some challenging traction issues for a motor powered machine. I've heard of less intense routes in the area.

Price of progress I guess, but the ridge trail is essentially gone... it's all windmill access, and some of the trails from ridge to wash have also been turned into access roads.
UGH!

I think the bike is fine, but a photography class might be worth taking. Them photos are dark.
Been a long time Ken, maybe I'll see you out there when I'm not hiding out.

post revival.
I have a friend interested in joining us dirt heads for some two wheeled fun. Looking to find the best dirt bike rental business for S.D.
Is S.D. Motosports Rentals worth it? Any other worth it companies? Gonna take him out to the Plaster C./Oco area and I know some of those shops have shop locations out there. Dealt with one company years ago and they sucked bad e.g., they showed up hours late, bikes were not what they said

Hey, isn't that cheating in trying to get to the top?

Didn't we ride together for like 2 minutes that day? I think so. It's a KTM world out there.

It always looks worse looking down. Why is that?
Inherit safety mechanism.
If we did not have it, we would try things without concern for the outcome. Look Mom, I can fly and then you hit the ground.
Now of course, we have the power to override inherit traits, safety alerts, common sense and so on, like for those of us who ride dirties on rocks. Look Mom, I can ride on rocks, and then you hit the ground.

Looks like a great opportunity for a rad smashing

Swung by Moto-Forza yesterday to check out the new Huskys. Wow, they are sweet! They are basically the equivalent KTM, but for an extra $50 (MSRP) you get a hotter cam (MORE POWER!!), better forks, linkage suspension, billet triples, and a composite subframe. That seems like a great deal by itself, but they are also discounting the 350s, and 501s by almost a $1000 right now. I'm not in the market for one today, so if anyone is looking, I thought I'd pass it along...
It took me another read, but at first I thought I read that they are "discontinuing the 350s and 501s." And of course that made me say, WHAAAAA-huh-UT! But of course I read it wrong. Me's like discounts and a buddy of mine just got his 350s. I'll have to steal it from him soon. Although I have no idea what I would do with it as I can not seem to ditch being sick.

Need to tilt the camera up a wee bit. I'd say, so the HJC is just in view and not other visor section.

I have read and seen pro/magazine reports on the bike, but it's the people who keep it real. Wait what? I just like to hear what owner's have to say about new bikes, even though everyone's opinions are just that, opinions. But when you hear/read enough opinions that are alike, well, that's very informative stuff.

I want the bike report on the FE350S. The list goes something like this..
Out of box:
Suspension
power
brakes
chassis feel
etc
Anything done to the bike:
Suspension
power
etc
Compare and contrast to the bike he had before the Husky?

Motorcyclist review of the street legal Huskys
"The biger bike is the way to go."
Well, to each his/her own. I like how much my 450 lugs through things, but I think the way the 350 handles (only know this through readings and people who have them) with it's motor and lighter chassis makes for more control on the single track and rocks. Granted you have to shift more and maybe it's not as smooth as the 501, but that extra "less" weight and machine control just seems that much more appealing than the bigger beast. Of course, if you're looking to ride the road/use up the gear box range then yeah, the five hundee is the beast to use.

Ken, with fam., COVID and more it’s a hit and miss with riding. Now that it’s warming up, the hit and miss is compounded.
