I've been tossed off my dirty more than once with a top mounted camera and much to my surprise it never got in the way (broke free or moved). Not saying that it couldn't/wouldn't cause damage, just my experience. It's seems like it would be a weird one off, but that's all it would take to be a bad thing, situation where the camera was hit dead on to cause it to drive in to the helmet shell. Also, keep in mind that Michael Schumacher was wearing a ski helmet, that as far as I know, it not as protective as our larger moto helmets.

P.S. I've had Go Pro bar mount on my track bike fly off due to the intense vibrations braking the mounting arm. If you mount on a bike (anywhere), or on the body I recommend you having a secondary tether in keep it with you in case of mount failure.

there is a handle bar mount, but then you run in to another dilemma, will you get impaled by it it. Problem with a bar mount is it is fixed to only a forward perspective. You miss a lot by having it fixed on a dirt bike, unlike a sport bike on the track. Try a chest mount for the dirt bike, but if you're a casual dual sport rider, then a bar mount might suffice.

That's horrible.....if you can make the drive to CC (and if you drive all the way to 4 corners) then driving to McC isn't much of a difference in drive time. It's about another 30mins from the Pine Valley cul-de-sac off the 8hwy. Map: http://goo.gl/yFTjgE Info: http://goo.gl/dGB2Vn

Did not read the article, but I will say and others are on the same page, having a top mounted camera is no good when branches are part of the trail. I think a chest mount is probably the safest and secondary, a front chin-bar mount (as in very front). With that said, I've been meaning to remove my top helmet mount for a while now.

Let me know when you want to go to Corral or McCain and we can see if you like our riding or not. There are by far more able riders out there than I, Bob mentioned a few of the buggers, but I/and a few others I ride with like a challenging flowing day. Now what, "challenging" means to me, you or anyone else won't be seen until we make a ride of it. You are on a tiny bike, so you should be able to blaze through stuff with much less pains than boys on the bigger bikes with a heavy butt in the seat. It's more about the heavy butt...MIND and not the bike. Heehaw.

Beauty of a weather day on Sunday out east. The usual suspects - Ahmed, Auzzy, Chad, Brett, Dave, Ty, Blake
-
Ha ha, totally forget Chad is on an Orange and we just rode together last Sunday. I guess I ride with too many Husky people.
-
I am on CH, same screen name. I have a Shorai lithium battery already in the husky. Well there you go. I have two of them, but killed one in a long term sitting bike. All my fault on its demise. The one in my Husky is still going strong after at least 4 years.
-
Blake you have a Husky, use the code. If you're not on C.H., get on it.

The only way to surf the net.

There are Shorai batteries as well. I have two. On the acid free batteries make sure to read their care i.e., charging. If you ride twice a month you're pretty golden, but if you have a bike that sits for a long time they need a little charging care or they will die. Depending on the brand, but they can't sit on a float tender forever like an acid battery. They do sell tenders specific for these batteries. The right care they should outlast a lead acid, reportedly two fold.

Chad, Call them up and ask for the discount to be applied.
-
No problem, as long as everyone got in a good ride, then all is well.

Brett almost jousted his tank with a Manzanita at the top where he wheelies - see pic
-
Up, the pic makes it seem more dramatic. I was on a torque machine loaner and I did not want to loop her going up, thus I dork throttle/clutched it lost momentum with the front on the top and rear off the dirt (on rock), and had to bail out. I lost my footing at the bottom and rolled away. It was all slow and easy. Not a difficult rock by any means, well except for me trying it that day. Heehaw.

350thump, I have no idea. Honestly, I've been riding McC for years and couldn't tell you a single trail name. I could however tell you where various large and small rocks are located.
-
Wait, here's one of me.
-
Shaking things up.
-
Not a crazy obstacle day, a bit more mellow than usual and good since I was on a loaner bike. No pics of me, other than a yellow front fender.
