  1. Ending the day with some jumping.
  2. Like all the other pics, these are actually stills from video. On our return ride back I thought I saw a firefly and my video confirmed it. It's been a long time since I've seen one of these buggers. Do you see it?

Ok...I also ride sweep cuz I'm slow and out of shape Is that really the reason??? I think you just like getting high off bike fumes. This thread is deeeeeeeeeerailed.

    riding alone

I think someone should plan a "group solo" ride. Everyone will start at their own spot alone. Everyone will ride "solo" where they wish, but as a group we'll all be riding, just not with each other. It's still dangerous and anything could happen, but at least there will be a comfort factor that everyone else is in the same predicament at the same time. Riding alone, knowing others are riding alone, is the only way to ride alone. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | V I voiced my position on this topic once before in another thread. So I won't preach again. But I will say this, please wear clean underwear. Crashing with skid marks, not made by the road rash, is no way to be found.

    riding alone

Okay, I'm putting this out there. I'll come get "you" (as in anyone) when in dire need. Of course, I think you should call your wife, husband, partner, best bud, lifeflight before reaching me, but yeah you can give me a ring when in need. I will not put a mileage limit on how far I'll go to get you (Corral, Utah, Mars), because if I'm the only one you can reach, then I'll come to your aid. Now, Bob (bikeslut) should have my number at least he did in a message I sent to him at some point on this site. xr650lnoob and 1kstep have my number as well. Now for giving out my number to you. Kinda paranoid about posting my number in a thread on a website, of any kind. So use those guys as a reference to getting my number and/or send me a message and I'll pass my number on to you. Cheers Note: Mars rescues. Gas donations welcome.

    LOST FENDER PACK

You know, I think many bike peeps try to put found items in a place where others (the person who lost it) can find it or try to post on a forum what they found. The problem is, what is the obvious place to leave it or what forum to post it on. We were at McCain a month or more ago and I found a tool bag on/in the woopie whoops south of the toilet. The tools were thrown out all over. Picked it all up, and dropped it off back at the table where some guys were hanging out, but it wasn't theirs. Went on to ride for however long. Came back and found some other guys. Turns out it belonged to one of them. Lucky for him we found it and ended up back at the vehicles at the same time. Speaking of finding things, if anyone needs a KTM louver, I found one.

  9. McCain May 19th, '13 Bob's words; "Good ride, with lots mixed in...singletrack, double track, fire road, sand, rocks Logroller ran some video, and will probably post Logroller on a husky, xr650lnoob on a husky, ktm-licious on his ktm, ruggle on the wr, paul showed up for a few minutes on the she beast" I might try to put some video together, but don't count on it. ALL POSTED PICS ARE IN REVERSE ORDER I.E., THE FIRST PIC IS NEAR THE VERY END OF THE DAY AND THE LAST PIC IN THE THIRD POST IS NEAR THE BEGINNING OF THE DAY.

I might make it for the 10am shift. How would one know if you ll be at lark or jacumba? That's a good question. I think I get signal at McCain and can post if we go to Jacumba if Bob cannot do it. If you see a little dark green Nissan pickup by the McCain tree that means two of us (Huskies) are still rolling around at McCain.

Oh lookie who is coming out to play. The truck is loaded with space for another dirty. If you want to bikepool, let me know. I wasn't planning on riding any later than noon and maybe less as I was looking to start riding by at least 7am. P.S. I gave you a ring and you either have your phone off, it's dead again, or you hate me.

I'll put in a vote for McCain.
  18. I don't think these reminders can be posted enough. The unexpected is always around the corner and you can NEVER be prepared enough as you would with another human being present. Ride smart, play hard and have fun. LINK PICS NOT GOOD FOR THOSE WITH A WEAK STOMACH http://www.thumpertalk.com/topic/1023178-this-is-why-you-dont-fly-on-skidroads/
  19. HVYWT go to minute 2:10 for explanation of my quote. And to make this clip thread related, if he did not have someone around to help with his limbs he would be in trouble.
  20. What this, it's just a flesh wound. C'mon.
  21. Side tracking my own thread. Actually, this fits right in, buddy riding I would be, but my GF is in town from Tahoe this weekend... Definitely next weekend, though. Okay, let me know mid week if you want to get together for a run.
  22. True, true, but have you ever heard a tree fall in the forest? Have you ever seen a tree fall in the forest? Fortunately, I have not come upon a a tree falling in front of me on the bike. However, I have hiked trails in Montana, heard trees fall, and found those same fallen trees on the trail I had just walked. It's an odd thing to hear a tree fall and not see it. It's even a little more of an eye opener when you find that same tree on the trail you had just taken. You cannot be prepared for a tree falling at the moment you are about to pass, just like you cannot predict that your front end will not wash out right next to a jumping Cholla plant. YEEEEEEEEEOUCH! Anyone see those Youtubie vids of guys and gals pulling Cholla spines out of the arms, arse, FACE after a bike dump. Anypoop, snakes can strike at great distance, boulders can knock you off a seemingly flat and well known trail, and so on. The original pic made me think about the folk that and will be making mountain runs. Tree riding can be tricky, but so can everywhere else.
  23. Scoobietubie, you riding this weekend?
