You missed the sign about budget cuts to Sesame Street. Government doesn't support Big Bird antics. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | V P.S. I'm trying to keep the faith that my body (head), will be healed enough to join. 1K, are you going balls out for a wake up/drive time? -

I was wondering about all the flags. Started thinking trials guys were coming back out, but then the placement wasn't right. I just want to see trials competition out there again. -

As of a week ago, I have on good word, there was nothing indicating a closure. Unless you consider a suspicious looking white 8 1/2 X 11 piece of paper on a tree with something on it I could not understand. Why they would close the tree is unknown to me. -

Actually we had discussed Sat. as it is closer to the rain day out there, but now my entire family, yes me too, is sick. C-----M-----O-----N ! ! ! ! 1 ! So we'll see. -

The plan has already been discussed, but waking at 5am was not part of it. -
Yup, price and having to go with their hand guards makes it pricier. However, the article did state it was cheaper to buy the bars and guards together, than separate. I'm curious how the TE hand guards hook up allowing for "floating" so the bars can still flex.

Interesting reviews on Twisted Engineering Compsoi-flex handlebars. Anyone using them? http://www.thumpertalk.com/reviews/product/42897-twisted-engineering-composi-flex-ii-handlebars/

Not really, just stating there was some grand weather out there and seeing how things played out for other people i.e., desert, mtns, local, trails, non-local trails. It was just goodness out there. But just for you Bob, to be a little less cryptic, somewhere near a windfarm for me.

AWESOME weather out on the east trails today.

Anyone ride this weekend? I found the Santa Ana winds were bringing in a cool, yet dry air making for some favorite eastern S.D. county trails to be cooler than most of the city location temps. Winds were probably 15 or so, but dust was surprisingly limited given no recent rain activity. To boost a great weather day, I found several single tracks and a few rock climbs/drops I have never seen before in a familiar trail riding area. Good times. OUT!

That humps looks enticing, I must find. Haps day to you.

de·lu·sion (d-lzhn) n. 1. A false belief or opinion by KTM: labored under the delusion that success was at hand. 2. Psychiatry. maintaining fixed false beliefs even when confronted with facts, usually as a result of mental illness: KTM was so delusional and paranoid that they thought everybody was conspiring against them, thus creating poor design judgement. -

You misunderstood me. I believe you. I don't know what that mount looks like, but reading your words about a kickstand mounted to a motor case seems like a no no for a manufacturer, thus me stating "I'd have to see it to believe it." Meaning, why would they do that??? Paul, I wasn't implying you are delusional or making things up, but I was implying that the manufacturer seemed to be delusional with their design choice. -

I'd have to see it, to believe it. Not that I don't believe you, just that it's seems like an odd place for a kickstand. Unless of course it's something like an extra chunk of cast metal that sticks out near the rear, then that might make sense. It wasn't cooking out on the 94? -

If you haven't already, hit up Cafe Husky. http://www.cafehusky.com/search/982382/?q=2011+te449+issues&o=date The one thing that did change on my friends bike that either helped or coincidentally things changed, was an aftermarket pipe. He said things seem better. But that really means nothing for what may be on or removed from your bike compared to his, as well as other things. -

Interesting. The word is get that computer flashed, unless there is a mechanical issue. I know someone with the same bike. -

Is it legal to use a rubber mallet on the top of the head? Not on the kid, but self inflicting a blow to my own head. How were the temps? I'll take my answer in the Ride Write-Up report thread. If there will be one. -

I agree, earlier is usually always better. Unfortunately, I have take-kid-to-school duty in the morning. Hope to see you if you can make it. sdmxr You Guys are out there now. I of course am a no go. The little one's teeth coming in is wreaking havoc on sleep these past few days. Little sleep and heat = too much body drain for me. Next time. Thanks for posting. -

Put the kick stands up 2 to 2.5hrs earlier and I can be in. I have a feeling its going to be a little warmer. -
P.S. I have a large cargo net (bungee style with tons of hooks) if that will help anyone. I don't want to read in the write up how gear flew out on to the freeway. I could probably lend out some camping gear as well if someone is in need.

Okay, I'll sacrifice myself for you. I'll take the tickets and go with my wife to the DM and you can go riding. It was a rough decision, but I'm here for my follow riders. Sounds like good times Bob. Wish I could join, if at the least, for the food. Probably good that I not attend as I eat for 3 people.

22 years (off and on that is) and still riding. My riding has changed over the years, as well as the machines between my knees. From riding a mini (tank - pocket bike) dirt bike as a 11 year old and not knowing how to use the brakes, to riding a neighbor's (my parents age) peddle scooter without my parents permission back in the no helmet days in my early teens, to my first and only cruiser at 19, various sport bikes in my 30s, riding various other people's bikes, and dual sporting starting X amount of years ago. I see plenty of reasons to quit, because they're not my reason(s), or I accept things as they are, I continue to ride.

Oh yeah I know. I've had offers but I just lose interest in it so quickly. Two days later and I'm all about finding something else sweet to ride. I think I only have photograph attention span. (not to be confused with a photographic memory, cause I dang sure aint got that!) Pull pic from vid, insert pic onto post, grab bike, make more pics! Thanks though! I'll just keep on watching your sweet videos!! I read ya. Stills is where it's at. 99% of video I capture is dull (to me and probably most others) as that 99% is often nothing but an open trail in front of me or footage that makes everything look slow, small, and long. So I splice together what little I can to give those who rode with me, and web lurkers, a slight glimpse back at the day. I need to take more opportunities with different lens perspectives (like you do), other than on top of my head. Maybe one day I'll tap in to a satellite or drone feed to see all of my crashes. Thanks for the compliment SV. And like many of us, I like your tales. I'm the believer that anything we can share about our rides is helping someone out.

Vic, just saying, someone could help with that footage.
