UPDATE: 

I wrote the below years ago; I'm 42 now, still on the same bike. 

36 years old. Ride a 2008 DL650 as a daily driver.

Had offroad riding experience growing up rural in MN with atv's and the like, but didn't get on two wheels until 2008. Got a Honda Reflex (250cc scooter) during the last gas crisis and rode it all over for 1.5 years. Was extremely practical and economical, but got bored not being able to shift and I was finding myself on the slab way too often and sold it. Plus riding a scooter all over town, even a bigger one, when you're 6' 4"...it can make for some comical moments.

Life intervened and didn't get on two wheels again until July of 2012, when I picked up the VStrom. Love this machine.

I'm still in the middle of an experiment I started when I got the bike, gave up my truck temporarily to see how much I could actually ride in everyday life. Been, I guess, several months now and I've used the truck about 3-4 times. Ride all over SD for work, commute, errands, you name it. I have no idea why I didn't do this sooner. It's awesome.

Been really getting into riding the strom for camping over the last two years, and have attended the NOOB and WARPED rallies. Great times to be had. Also have had many great day rides with SDAR noob rides, thank you guys for continuing to put those on.
